What businesses can one run online?

I don't mean online jobs like Fiverr service provider or writer / designer on freelancing sites. (But yes, having a company that provides these services either through subcontracting or as a brokerage would count.)

I'm talking more about businesses one can run on the web almost exclusively. Big examples of course are the Audible, iContact, & Godaddys and on the smaller scale a lifestyle blogger selling ebook, a trader site selling courses or a fitness instructor selling muscle building videos.

Besides the most common methods in our world (list building, link service, infoproduct sales, etc) what other business models are available?

BarberShop, I'm sure you're asking this question because you want to know what options you have just in case one income stream does not work for you. But if you were to read Horny Devil's response, that's what I'd like to answer, too.

This is the reason why for the first quarter of 2013, I'll be teaching my fellow Filipinos how to find their niche. Most people are trying to be a jack-of-all-traits and a master of none. It's either you excel in one thing or average on many.

Content based businesses are quite complimentary to run online. They don't call it the information age for nothing
