Anyone try it yet? Any bugs or incompatibilities with common plugins/themes?

It seems pretty fresh actually. I've a big list of clients to update so I can let you know sometime today what the outcome of this is.

    Thanks for the headsup

    A bug I found...

Putting text above or below a video embed leaves a space that I can not get rid of - tried it on several themes - so it's the update.

Also, the "align middle" is giving me trouble.

Ok, one more... when you upload an image, the layout is different and less detailed. For newbs - it could get confusing if you want to optimize your images.

Looks like a slick, stable upgrade. I have upgraded a few sites with no issues (backed up just in case). Main feature improvement I noticed was the new media manager, it ROCKS!

No problems with 3.5 here either. I backed up first of course, and I go to the extreme of testing the backup on a temporary sub-domain to check it's okay before I actually upgrade.

Wordpress keeps getting hacked. I would be especially wary of a new release of an open source product. HIGH probability there is something that will get exploited again as there always has been.

Hey everyone. I did the 3.5 upgrade and it took away the html tab and re-labled it "text" which was fine but the thing no longer worked. Clicking it did nothing. Additionally, the media link was broken and did nothing.

THE FIX: Add the following line to the wp_config.php file....

wp_config.php is in your root wordpress folder. You can open it using an FTP client or from your webhost admin panel.

    Find the line which is require_once(ABSPATH . 'wp-settings.php');
and insert define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); just above.

I did this and all's good in my WordPress 3.5 world now and wanted to post this in case someone else ran across the same problem.

I usually like to update every thing immediately when I see there is an update available. It's a compulsive thing I have :\ Hate to see update messages. Then a few times I had trouble b/c there was a bug in the update. So now I usually wait a few days and see if others had issues first

I use several hosting services (I have over 200 sites up and running although only 75 or so run Wordpress, most are HTML5). Hostgator is my primary server host. I outsource most of the admin tasks like updating plugins, themes, WP, etc. I recently had all of my WP sites upgraded to 3.5. All went well except for the WP sites that I have hosted by the host iPage. After the upgrade, all the sites indicated they were running WP 3.5 and that they were up to date, but in reality did not upgrade at all, They still had all of the old features. I attempted to upgrade manually from the server side (cPanel) and it litterally crashed every site! I had to file a support ticket and am waiting to hear back from them. Fortunately, everything, including the databases, is backed up.

Oh man... Any word if they fixed it yet? They have a $1.99 per month promo right now and I was about to try it as well. I made some researches and of course and found yours about ipage.

For me it's been going fine so far.

However I've spoken to a couple of people who've encountered issues:

    1. Unable to create new posts

    2. Unable to use visual editors like TinyMCE and CKEditor.

As I say, I haven't had these issues myself but I know others have.

Here's my update about the 3.5 update:

One of my popular sites can't add posts...images... nada right after the 3.5 update.. literally right after. Deactivated all plugins and refreshed everything and the final verdict was the update. Having my tech fix the issue now. As said by everyone above this thread, BOTTOM LINE... Backup all your sites prior to the WP updates!

    Lesson learned.

Two upgrades, two problems. Same basic error.

Both domains hosted on Hostgator and update was attempted thru Fantastico - 1st update attempt I did about 10 days ago - it errored out and when you tried to bring up the site you got:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp() in /home/userid/public_html/wp-blog-header.php on line 14

After much research I found that updating it manually was the way to go but forgot the site I found this on.

Second site was being built for us - web designer tried to update via fantastico, same error as above, asked me to try to fix. Had to research again and learned that many others were experiencing this problem - finally found instructions on Wordpress site that I have now bookmarked - both have been resolved, updated - hope this helps others -

Backed up, then updated to 3.5. Like the new interface, seems sleeker. I added 3 new posts and checked it a couple of days ago and it's good. However, my site is now down with DNS issues which I think are because of the host and not the blog. Honestly, I don't think the upgrade is the culprit and am still impressed with 3.5

    UPDATE:

    Hello Everyone.

Everything is working fine with the upgrade now. iPage had to manually upgrade WP on their end in my root folder twice before the upgrade appeared in my WP Dashboard(s). I have a multi-site configuration and for some reason the upgrade didn't take (see my previous post).

The only problems that I am now experiencing are issues with certain javascript functions. In order for me to be able to see and or use all of the new features in WP 3.5, I have to disable my No-Script Extension in Firefox. There are definitely some compatibility issues.

Everything works in the Opera, Chromium (I run BSD and Linux), and Empathy browsers just fine (even with the No-Script Browser Extension). It's just Firefox that I continue to have problems with.

I update with any additional problems.

    Chet
