Okay How Is a 320% Conversion Rate on JVZoo Possible?

I must be missing something fundamental here. Somebody 'splain this to me.

I promoted a product via JV Zoo. Normally, I see conversion rates around 25% or so. My highest was 95%. That's great and all.

BUT...today I see a product I promoted with a 320% conversion.

HUH?

It says I had:

64 clicks
5 visitors
16 sales
320% conversion
$28.44 per visitor
$8.89 per sale
$142.18 total

Total confusion. And I know I've seen 24 sales come in, not 16. I haven't used JVZoo a TON and I haven't bothered checking stats much when I did - but this time I wanted to see something specific.

And another question I have - what's the difference between a click and visitor on JVZoo's dashboard?

Is there an explanation somewhere?
Thanks!
Tiff

Maybe it factored in stats from a previous period? Or are there bonuses involved? Some programs factor in bonuses.

I've never found a good explanation. JVZ stats are always screwy, in my experience.

64 clicks and 16 sales looks like a 25% conversion, to me?

I see that if it were 5 clicks (and it does say "5 visitors") then 16 sales would indeed be exactly a 320% conversion.

So my suggestion is that the "conversion percentage" must be calculated according to the number of "visitors" rather than according to the number of "clicks". But I don't know how they define "visitors" and "clicks" or why these are apparently two different things.

    Can't fault their math, though: 16/5 = 320%.

That can be from someone not having the proper buttons on the page that it's landing on. As in maybe someone has it directing to that page coming out of the front end buy download page instead of using the funnel system which has specific buttons. Global cookies will take over and still credit you with the sale but it doesn't count it as being "clicked" so to speak and counted as affiliate traffic.

That's most likely the case, but if you want to PM me the product it was and your account ID and we can take a look into it a little more

Whew! Thanks. I mean, I know I'm horrible at math but I thought they changed the whole number system on me while I was sleeping. LOL!

This sounds like the ultimate product to promote. It would seem like everyone who lands on the sales page likes it so much they each buy 3.2 copies of it!

Gotta get me some of that!

I actually did have a very honest guy one time buy 7 copies of the same product from me, unlicensed. He could have easily distributed the one, but he messaged me that he had clients and might be buying more copies for them, and that's what he did.

If its a repeat sale, ie a subscription JVZoo counts the repeated payment as a new 'sale' in there stats. The problem with this is that

    A) you get these over 100% conversion rates, for example if you get 1 person to click your subscription product who buys it and 2 other peoples payments also come in your conversion rate will show a 300% since the 2 payments are counted as 'sales'

    B) you can never really track your sales because you wont know if they are new purchase or if they are just repeat payments coming in. For example if you get 50 people who view your sales page and 8 sales, are those sales new people? Are they repeat payments? I dont know. Do you? JVZoo sure doesnt.

You will find lots of mistakes like this on JVZoo unfortunately.

Whenever I've seen this happen on Wplus it was because someone was using their own buy button and hyperlinking it to the "buy url"... So the "tracking pixel" is not shown and thus the stats not recorded correctly...

Basically what Bryan said. "using the wrong button"

This happens sometimes on pretty much all networks.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Coby

Or is it that it includes OTO's and cross-sells?

THAT would have been MY guess...

Still, 320% conversion is pretty impressive... I think I'm going to promote that one too!

Each product has its own stats, so OTO sales won't count in the front end stats.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

How much you want for your system, my checkbook is on the table lol.
Jvzoo has been having some internal problems I believe, I have some weird crap lately.

They need to get ahold or zaxaa and w+ will take over again.
