There are alot of different ways, techniques and methods that you can use to generate leads and clients for your business.

You may need to try several different methods and techniques based upon how much time or money you are willing to invest. You should first have a good understanding of basic search engine optimization (SEO) and link building. With those things under your belt, a very basic model that you could start with can be as follows :

Step 1.) Create a lead generation system that should include a way of providing high quality content to prospective clients along with a lead capture tool such as an autoresponder and a followup email series that should consist of at least 7 - 10 high quality followup email messages for your subscribers.

Step 2.) You can start out by creating a blog and posting daily or weekly articles to drive traffic to your site.

Step 3.) Use video marketing and social media to help promote your content.

These are 3 basic steps that you can use to get your lead and traffic generation process started.

Web development - are you working with offline clients? There is a great offline forum here. You can get hired through Elance and Odesk when you bid for jobs and then network with those who hire you. You can network with friends, family and your community contacts.

And, you can do those searches mentioned.

Probably the best advice is to take action - figure out first hand which methods work for your personality and the niche of people you are working with - using proven methods you'll read about here. Check out the War Room as well - multitude of information there!

Unfortunately internet marketing isn't like cooking - there is no recipe that works the same for everyone. As has been stated it depends on how much money and time you have to spend. I would also say it depends on your skills. If you are good on social media that will be the easiest way for you to generate traffic - if you are comfortable writing articles then guest blogging and writing for web 2.o sites will be a good way to get backlinks and build targeted traffic.

There are plenty of good ideas out there, you are going to have to take the time to read through them and figure out what will work for you. I would recommend doing some studying and then make a plan you can live with for the next 30-60 or 90 days. Jumping from one thing to another won't help.

I highly recommend to join coaching program about internet marketing. I did the same some time ago and it saved me so much time and efforts. There are ways how you can generate quality traffic to your website for free, you just need somebody to teach you how. You could go with free information and you could search for free advice here on forum warrior forum or elsewhere on the internet (have done that without great results) but believe me you will spend a lot of time that way without any guarantees for success. If you want generate profit from your website fast you need somebody who will show you in a simple way step by step how it has to be done.
If you are serious about making business online and make a living of it then consider to hire somebody to teach you how. You will spare a lot of time, money and nerves!
