There are a few here on WF with a very good Rep but you are going to pay more than $5 that's guaranteed...
I would not expect much from a $5 mentor on Fiverr......

You know the saying right: "You get what you pay for".

For 5 bucks, maybe he'll tell you that the secret to succeed in IM is to never give up or to build a list

"The money is in the list!" Here goes 5 dollars!

For 5 bucks how long to be done? 10 minutes? Find more info about that.

Yes, of course: someone soliciting "mentorship clients" and earning $4 each from them is bound to have a hugely successful business, plenty of relevant experience, an established reputation and all the coaching/teaching skills required to impart their knowledge and experience to all-comers without wanting to know anything about them first; I wouldn't hesitate for a moment.

WTF. $5? Just go on here and you'll probably learn more than what that fool will teach you with that $5 in a day.

He's probably going to send you a free PDF file, and that will be your mentoring. He's building a mailing list, and getting you to pay him to do it.

I understand that there is crap on Fiverr...but don't dismiss it off hand with a "stay away" comment. There are a ton of high quality gigs on Fiverr. I personally think the quality of my stuff is far superior than the professional spokespersons you see charging $39 for a ten word script. There are a lot of Fiverr sellers who I know personally who kick ass with the quality they produce.

To the OP...it's $5. Try it out. If the seller is not the real deal, oh well, it's $5. If he is the real deal, you get a nugget or two of wisdom for $5.

I've purchased WSOs for alot more than $5 that were complete crap and yet have spent $5 on Fiverr and got some great stuff. There are diamonds in the Fiverr rough....you just need to find them

People are prone to make too sweeping a comment about
many platforms that have nothing to do with the individual
sellers. WSO is a selling platform, so is ODesk, ClickBank,
Elance, etc. None of these platforms can guarantee the
quality of the products sold, so why dismiss them as
        a whole?

There are good and bad WSOs, Fiverr Gigs, oDesk sellers,
Elance sellers--good and bad Warriors, eBayers--good
and bad in all of us.

Reminds me of a line from Jerry Seinfeld: "I hate people
        they are are the worst."

I wouldn't discount that they were a fake, cant imagine that they will be absolute gurus but maybe have a system that can make you some money like many wso's do for not very much.

For $5 what have you got to lose unless that all you have to find something that works, in which case maybe you don't have any other choice!

$5 for a mentor is a joke. Here's $5 worth of advice. If someone thinks that his consulting advice is only worth $5, it most likely is.

This has got to be a joke.

They'll tell you something like "never stop trying" and "keep building your list", then they'll be done.

Seriously instead of spending that 5 bucks, just read around WF or other IM forums... there's lots of great info on the web.

Think it from the seller side... It is a lead generation strategy. And a great one... super targeted and instead of paying for leads, you get paid $5 each...

Now, what happens after the gig was bought intrigues me. My take is:

an ebook with the basics and links to purchase more information.
      or
10 min answering one or two pressing questions; followed by a sales pitch to upgrade the service to a premium coaching program.

        Sandra,

Thanks for being open-minded (but realistic) as usual.

A lesson in using your brain. Instead of dismissing this gig out of hand, think about WHY this person is doing it or HOW.

There was a Warrior not too long ago who was selling very expensive "personal" coaching that turned out to be a load of pre-recorded video with a bit of email support. If this is what this person is doing then for $5 you've got something similar to a service that was selling for hundreds of dollars.

Not saying either service was/is any good

We've all heard this in the past:

"You get what you pay for."

Trust me, that little saying is 100% true. Not just for IM, but for everything in life.

In this example, would you REALLY trust that someone is going to "mentor" you for $4 profit? On top of that, they can't even withdraw that $4 until TWO WEEKS after the order has been marked complete!! LOL

Come on man. You know that wouldn't be worth it.

Most likely they would send you to some pre-recorded webinar that they ripped from someone else or something like that..

But you won't be getting live 1-on-1 coaching for a fiverr gig.. I can guarantee that.. lol

Ok, maybe my comment "stay away" was not right.

what I meant is, a mentor on fiverr?

I paid my mentor alot more than that and it's because that money is his time and his time is worth much more than just $5.

there are some awesome gigs I found at fiverr, mostly design.

But, a mentor? I'd never trust that.

If this guy's worth a grain of salt then you'll get 5 minutes of mentoring and then he'll upsell you to the other 55 minutes for big bucks

Yeah, if they are charging $5, probably not something you want. You can get a ton of info here on Warrior Forum for FREE that is worth thousands. A personal mentor is a good thing to have, I have paid for many, but in the end, you need to do the work.

Might just be some plr coaching ebook or video. It is a great way to get clients though, that you can upsell products or real coaching to

You know, I'm pretty sure the people who work for $5 and the people who want to buy quality services for $5 are made for each other and I'm kind of glad that's how it is.

The best way to learn something is screwing it! Yap, if you really want to learn to promote a product try with twitter, using hash tags, facebook fan page, etc. there's no need to spend on a consultant they learned what they know with google, always use google or bing as a free mentor, there's a lot of tutorials on youtube that can help you.
    All the best.

I don't agree that you get what you pay for. That suggests that if you pay nothing you get nothing of value, but the truth is that I don't pay to be a member of Warrior Forums and yet I get the best information and advice I could ever ask for. It's transformed my online businesses and helped me generate profits all for nothing! So the real question you should be asking is why pay $5 when I can get it for free here at WF?

Sometimes I'm struck by how unimaginative my fellow Warriors are with stuff like this.

    Sarcasm, ridicule, rolling of eyes...

I see a few were clever enough to realize that it's very possible someone uses fiverr to sell mentoring or coaching as a loss leader much the same way as someone who gives free coaching consultations. Hoping that one out of 3 or 5 people will like the consultation or cheap coaching call so much that they will pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for full-time coaching.

No idea about this particular gig, of course, but c'mon, think about it.

As for buying the gig, you won't know if it's worth it until you buy. Try it out and see for yourself. Perhaps they are a successful person just looking to give back at a cheap price, and yes those people do exist. I'd vote for the upsell strategy though.
