Traffic Exchanges Tick Me Off.

As a clickbank vendor, I'm wondering if I can report affiliates who are blasting my site with traffic exchange spam hits?

It's truly a pain, totally skews my stats for everything...and I have NEVER seen a conversion from any site in any niche from trafficexchange traffic!!

    Thats pretty dumb of your affiliate to do that. I am pretty sure you should be able to report him.

    What I would do is to ask your affiliates not to use these sites for traffic. They are useless and they do mess up your stats. This happened to me a few times. You can include this on your affiliate "sign up" page.

    Even if they do use these websites, they will figure out very fast that it is a total waste of time.

    If you can email your affiliates, then do that.

      This is one of the reasons why ClickBank "conversion rates" don't mean anything at all and are rightly not published.

    Yea, I wouldn't stress it... there will always be someone thinking they can make a quick buck submitting their aff links to traffic exchanges...

    Best way to track conversions is through Google Optimizer (now Google Analytics) or Visual Site Optimizer...

      Why not turn a bad situation into a good one? Create a guide about how to build a list and promote your products and give it to your affiliate. When traffic exchange are use properly, they can create very good leads, which with the right auto responder series can become sales for your affiliates and for you.

      Just because they are not using traffic exchange correctly doesn't mean there's not value in the traffic.

      I disagree. I've done quite well with traffic exchanges and they wouldn't still be around if they were useless.

      I agree. The only conversion rate that matters is the one you are specifically tracking for one method of advertising or one promotion.

    Sign up for EasyClickMate by Adrian Ling so you can ban affiliates you suspect doing this. Also, contact the traffic exchange website and ask them to take down your affiliates' affiliate link.

    You can simply ban affiliates from promoting your offers, I suppose, really traffic exchanges are not good for sales at all per my experience.

    I am not fond of traffic exchanges at the best of times. When I first started online thought that I could get some useful traffic there but I soon realized that you could spend a lot of time there for little results. I got out of the two I was in.

      Surfing only two exchanges won't do much and the goal should never be to trade your time for traffic. Yes, when you start with traffic exchanges and you don't have any money, you need to generate some profits before you can invest, but the goal should be to replace your time surfing with buying credits.

      I would NEVER recommend to use JUST traffic exchanges, but if you can dedicated 10 hours a week to your marketing efforts, spending a couple of them surfing for traffic can help you build a list.

      My advice still remains the same. If you have an affiliate using this as a source of traffic without getting any conversions, teach them how to build a list through the exchanges and promote your products through an auto responder system. Of course, I am a big believe in taking what seems like a negative situation and turning it into a positive.

    As a traffic exchange owner and surfer for 16 years, I would PLEAD for Clickbank program owners to stop getting their affiliates to promote in our sites. The pop ups and exit ads are absolutely useless and do nothing but disrupt our services.

    If you wanna get leads for your members, using traffic exchanges are very effective. but the general affiliate links with exit ads will get you nothing but angry viewers from my little side of the internet.
