Kindle 35-70% Royalty Options for Publishers

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm new to kindle publishing, uploaded a book and when you get the option to select royalty options, why is the 70% option locked out? My book is 2.99 but I cannot select the 70% option only the 35%? Any ideas?

OK certain countries do not have the 70% option. I typically sell my e-books for 99 cents and get only 35% so there you go.

It depends on the locations. Also, if your book is public domain you cannot do the 70%.

HI Global365

It has to do with the Publishing rights you selected. If you selected World Wide, then it defaults to 35% but it only applies to certain countries. In the USA if your book is sold, you will get 70%.

Here is what amazon says.

i. Book Eligibility: Books that consist primarily of public domain content are not eligible for the 70% Royalty Option.

That is probably your problem there vern.
