For the text message marketers out there. How many times a week do you text your list?
Thanks

It depends on which niche you are dealing with.
For example if I have a weight loss audience, I wouldn't text them as often as how much I'd text an IM's niche.

    Hope you've found this valuable.

You should not always send offers. You can send offers maybe 2 times /week combined with free tips/information once or twice a week. I believe this will give more value to the subscribers.

A few times in the week should be enough. Really only when you have something valuable to give them. Offer a dis proportionate amount of value to your promotional cycle. Offer more value then sales attempts. Videos are taking over at this point. Communicate to your list through a combo of high quality written content and videos.

    My rule of thumb is...

No more than 6 message a month and no more than 2 message a week.

This means you are averaging for about 1 message per week but over the period of a month that also gives you 2 additional messages incase any urgent promotions pop up.

But yes, a good average is once a week.

What? You want to wait until every other man and his dog is doing it?

When do you think email marketing was most effective? Nowadays when people are getting boatloads of emails everyday or ten years ago when people were only getting 1-2 emails per day?

When a technology is not popular that is exactly when you want to milk it. By the time it becomes popular it is almost always less effective.

I don't use SMS for online stuff but I know plenty of offline businesses that use it successfully. But I do know very few people are currently taking advantage of it so now is actually the best time for you to be taking advantage of it.

Once a week is not too much, and not too less

Usually i have 4 groups of list and one group will sent two times in one month .
Once in weekend and once in weekday . I try to make it not being to spam because it will be real troublesome.
Then second month i will be grab another 4 list and and previous lists will leave 3rd month and send again .

Text message is more easy to get bounce back compare to email , that why not to send to frequent.

Whatever you do DO NOT send your text message to people in North America at 03:00 in the morning. It just pisses them off, at least it really pisses me off. There's nothing worse than being woken up on a Monday morning at Zero dark thirty from a stupid Label company.

Most times I put my phone on vibrate at night time but a lot of the time I forget and I pay for it ... LOL

I send 2 texts a week to my SMS list...

The first text is notice of my coaching webinars.

The second text is the replay of that webinar.

I don't do any marketing through my SMS list - as they joined to get reminders of my webinars - if I want to promote something to them I just send an email

However, if I had something "really" important that I was pitching I would send them a text but for now I just use it for coaching webinar reminders and it works great. The unsubscribe rate it stupid low (I think only 3 people have unsubscribed in 9 months) so it must be working.

Also, I agree with what Mike said - you have to be more careful and pay attention to the time when you are sending text messages, whereas with email it's not as big of a deal to send an email at 3 AM as you won't likely wake anyone up.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Coby

Anyone who knows, is 3 sales out 500 texts any good?...

    Interesting.
Depends how many of the texts were read.

I know on a lot of those order forms I usually don't enter my real phone number so if they are the numbers you are using, chances are you have a lot of dud numbers.
