Help plz Buying domain names

I am looking to purchase 5 or so domain names and transfer them to my hostgator account. Does anyone know the cheapest/best place to do this? Hostgator seems to charge a bunch for domains.

Register at domain registrar like godaddy or namecheap.

Currently there is some discount going on with godaddy ... just search for the coupon codes and key it in to get the discount.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

Never register domains with your host. Godaddy, Namecheap ... stick with the big registrars and avoid problems.

1and1.com is running a special offer where you can register up to 5 .com's (with private registration included) for $0.99 each the first year. 5 .com domains for 5 bucks is a crazy good deal!

They are smaller than Namecheap and GoDaddy, but I have used them for quite a while and never had a problem with them.

OP: Google 1&1 scam before using this company. They have a lot of very unhappy customers.

You will find that every domain registrar has tons of negative reviews. GoDaddy pulled up 131 reports on Ripoffreports.com alone. People are saying that GoDaddy refused to release domains after transfer, charged their credit cards without authorization, or even canceled their domain renewals for no reason.

I had 200+ domains registered with them at one point and my personal gripe was that they called me day in and day out if I were to cancel automatic renewal on even one domain. I've also been billed on multiple occasions for private registration renewals that were canceled prior to renewal date.

My personal experience with 1and1 as a domain registrar has been more positive, although I've never used their hosting.

In any case, my point is that every registrar will have mostly happy customers and some unhappy ones. I'm not saying none of these horror stories are true, but there won't be any perfect companies out there.

I don't see anything wrong with taking advantage of their 99 cent deal so long as you transfer it to another registrar before it's up for renewal so you don't get stuck with their higher renewal fees.

I am with GoDaddy since many years, they are very good, indeed.

But you do not need only a good registrar, you also need to choose good domain names, that will be essential for the success of your business, I think.

I totally agree with the second part, cannot comment on Go Daddy but sure that they are fine.
i'm British but being based in Asia I use a local host and register my domains with them also, get great after sales service, get to speak with a person if ever necessary and I like to "shop local" there's a lot to be said for that. Not even sure how they compare on pricing but it's maybe a little more than the likes of Go Daddy. Even though they are a huge company nationally they have always treated me and everyone I have referred to them with the same helpful and prompt attention.

I have got a mail from register.com a few days ago and saw they are providing .com, .net, .org, .info domains for $0.50. I don't want to register a domain right now. You can have a look at their and see if the offer is still available.

I have registered hundreds of domain names through GoDaddy for many years and have never had a problem with one of them.

GoDaddy gives you a ton of upsell offers each time you buy, but you quickly learn to easily scroll to the bottom of the page and click "No Thanks" and just move on.

I always set my renewals to "Manual" and GoDaddy reminds you when it's time to renew. I set my own DNS servers to my hosting account at HostGator and typically the domain name is up and ready to go almost immediately.

Whenever I buy a new name or renew one, I search online for GoDaddy promotions and typically buy or renew at less than $8 per name. If you do bulk buying or renewing you can get an even bigger discount. I just recently bought 3 names for $1 each with a promotion.

I don't know that GoDaddy is the best service, but I have been with them for many years (my first website was built in 1998) and have not experienced any problems. Your experience could be different.
