Help me with my domain

I recently bought a domain name from a local registrar. I was planning to using that domain for my blog but my registrar provides no way to edit the CName and A Name details. So, I wanted to know if there is any way by which I can transfer my domain to another registrar which provides me with the service for editing the CNAMe and A records. Thank You

    No way to edit the CNAME and ANAME? Surely they can do it for you, even if they do not provide the DNS Editor to do it yourself.

    Anyway, yes you can transfer your domain to another registrar, no problem.

    As far as I remember when you have found a new registrar you can get them to initiate the transfer - The current registrar would need to unlock the domain then the new registrar can transfer it over. There is a code that is required for the transfer to take place, that allows the transfer to be authenticated.

    I haven´t done it for a long time and no doubt someone else can give more specifics.

    Best thing to do is to find your new registrar, then ask them to take care of the transfer - If they won´t advise you, then do not use them.

    Yeah you can transfer domain to any other registrar.

    I don't know any other way of transfering domain name other than CName change some domain name provides locks the domain name so your registrar may have locked your domain too so you must contact them and ask them to release your domain name.

    You can't transfer it for 60 days after you purchase it. As for the editing thing, never did that and don't know why you would want to. :p

    I looked for solution for your problem with my web hosting company and posted on my blog detailed instructions how to do that. You could go there and try.

    This is why I try to stay away from cheap domain providers. You don't get any DNS support. You'll need to wait 60 days to transfer it or, do what I did, angrily delete the domain from that registrar and register it again with another, better company.

    Which part do you need help with?

    Have you found a new registrar to transfer the domain to?

    What exactly are you trying to achieve? Why do you want to edit the CNAME?

    Due to the waiting period on the transfer of registrars you are kind of trapped. Surely, even if they don't provide DNS management you can still edit the nameservers. If so, sit tight at that hokey-jokey registrar and get an account and point the nameservers to a place like DNS made easy and have full blown DNS editing capability. You should do that no matter where your domain is registered or hosted anyway so that no one company in the chain is in control of everything and you can change your root A record in a snap to switch hosting, or move your MX records etc.

    Be careful and read up on DNS stuff. Most will never know why you'd ever need to edit CNAME or A records...after a little bit of experience in the industry they'll find out.
