Hi Warriors, I have a question about email marketing... sort of.

I run a newsletter that I send out once a month. I upload a zip file of my newsletter and my clients can download it to their computer and print it out.

I create the newsletters in Word format.

I want to give them the option of emailing the newsletter to their list of subscribers but I want to make it as easy as possible for both my clients and their clients (many of them aren't that savvy about emails, computers, etc.).

Is there a way I can put my actual newsletter, photos and all, into the body of an email instead of attaching it as a file?

I would love it if my clients, and their clients, could just open the email and have the newsletter right there for them to see rather than having to click on links and download it, etc.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Simply use a HTML format and supply a link to a webpage for those on text only. You might also think about converting the word file to pdf (ebook) if you don't want to go the HTML route.

First of all, yes, you can write emails in formatable HTML. Pictures, links, and all.

But, many email services and clients no longer open/display images or recognize hyper links by default for security reasons.

In addition to that, many people can't or choose not to receive HTML in their emails, just text only.

For these two reasons alone (I can state many others), I would not do as you suggest.

Why not set up an unpublished (not in your site's nav menus) area on your site where you actually create your newsletters as web pages.

That's what I do. Just include a text and hyper link in the email directing them to the current issue of the newsletter.

When I do (on occasion), send a downloadable newsletter, I always convert it into a PDF first. That way it is not only protected from being edited, but also can be read on any computer, operating system, or platform, including mobile/portable devices. MS Word limits who can open and read it.

upload all the files to a third party hosting account. so that you'll put your file links into your newsletter.

PDF is your best bet, imo. I would like a pdf better over an email. If I think it's valuable, I may save it on my desktop. Not really possible to do that with an email though.
