NBC producer contacted us today from youtube.

Was too excited when I wrote this thread so I edited everything out. There's a long story behind the original thread but my ego tells me I don't need 2 threads on this topic.

Just want WF newbies to know that marketing works. Youtube works. And it can work really well if you truely commit yourself. Since I have calmed down since yesterday, mods can delete this thread if they would like to (unless you feel there is value in it). And I would like to thank the members who got annoyed by my defensive attitude. I value a strong observing ego, so I always know how I sound to others, and that side of my ego took a nap when I wrote this thread.

Thanks - Red

I think whatever you did was smart. If it gets you on the Doctors that's huge. Can you pm me what the topic was?

Disaster preparedness is a huge business. There's nothing unethical about that business. The only unethical businesses are the unqualified contractors that storm through devastated neighborhoods after a disaster and try to bilk them out of money and do crap work or just disappear with the money, and that happens all the time.

I've got a disaster prep site that offers supplies to make people's lives more comfortable when a disaster strikes. There is nothing wrong with a business that solves a problem for people.

Congrats on the media noticing your channel.

@sbucciarel - Can you post the url to your disaster preparedness site? I had broadcast a 2 hour teaching on getting prepared and I have always espoused adding a section on my networked sites to focus people on getting themselves and their families ready for any sort of disaster. I believe this will be an urgent need and we need to keep educating the masses about being ready.

This is a great example of exactly "what to do".

If you know in your heart of hearts that you have a great idea then GO FOR IT regardless of how many detractors you might have - I spoke about this in my 3000 post manifesto guide warriors can still grab for FREE here:

In this case this is going to mean a massive marketing shift "As seen on NBC" and this is going to help drive more sales for years to come

    Great job RS!!!

Instead of being defensive and pushing the "I was right and people here were wrong" - get busy and do the research for your product.

You don't seem to know much about that TV program - it's not controversial or in your face and not a program where snake oil salesmen hype products.

That means they see value in what you have to offer - so watch the show, learn about the doctors on the panel, look at their website to see what the focus is for the show. THAT'S how you prepare for the interview.

I've only seen it a couple times but the show has a good rating, has won a couple of awards, and has a loyal following so getting your product on it could really be a boost. I'd think your chances are good as it's a daily show with a lot of air time to fill each week.

Don't look back - move ahead. Good luck.

A lot of companies use disasters like Sandy to make money fast.

Some do it for good reasons and really do help the people but others are just there to take the money and then vanish.

I heard that some charities got slammed for collecting funds for Sandy and then took like 80% to their pockets.

You need to look into how charities operate.

Most charities keep an overhead fee of every dollar generated. They are required by law to only transfer a certain percentage of the money collected to the intended recipients.

Sending only 20% of ever dollar collected to the intended recipient is not uncommon.

If you are concerned to see more of your money reaching those people in need, do some homework before writing the check.
