I recently purchased a list of 500 contacts (IM Niche) from a source and received the spreadsheet today.

I want to start monetizing this list as soon as possible; How do I import it into an auto responder without prompting an opt-in? I use GVO and it has a warning that each contact must opt-in before going on my list.

What are my options?

Thanks!

Not sure which company is GVO. So you may want to post a link. Depends on the opt in process where the emails originally came from. If they opted into 3rd party resell then you can legally email them, if not, then you can't.

If your email service is trying to force you to send a double opt in upon upload, then you need to use another service probably.

Good luck, list purchasing is really hit or miss... usually miss if you don't know what to look for.

GVO is an autoresponder. They will not allow importing lists unless there is a double opt-in.

The niche is Internet Marketing (making money online) (starting your own online business).

Well, some autoresponders won't allow importing those, unless they were legally purchased.

But, why did you even purchase those leads?

You could have done much better with building a list and not purchasing it.

In any niche, it's QUALITY vs QUANTITY.

How targeted do you think your leads are after you purchased them?

    I guess not much. maybe?

They could be highly targeted, you really don't know. My guess is they are junk but let him find out for sure and learn.

It is most likely going to be a spam list! Sorry to say.. Is it targeted to a specific niche ?
I wouldn't do it but the way to do it is open up a new gmail account with fake credentials then go over to tinyletter.com\ and open up a account with the gmail account you just created and input your list and send out your newsletter !
500 not targeted and not built by you, You might get 5 clicks ! I hope you didn't pay over $10 because your going to have a hard time getting it back out of that list.
You will probably get off about 7 emails before they shut you down.
    Best of luck

    Throw it away?

Why don't people understand that purchasing a list is not only highly untargeted but you're going to have an abysmally low conversion rate on anything you advertise? If you want a surefire targeted list, you need to:

Allow people to opt in on their own free will. If someone's interested in what you have to sell, say or just wants to hear more information, they'll subscribe to you. I'm not sure why people keep thinking they can just buy their way to a $10 million dollar list.

... is nearly always the correct answer, in these situations.

Unless you know that all the people on that list gave their permission, when opting in, for their details to be sold on to others, how much can you imagine such a list is worth to you? (And even if you did know that, really, the same question perhaps applies?).

From how many marketers they don't know do you think those people regularly hear? Do you think they might get mountains of spam, and be totally fed up with it, and very quick indeed to "report spam emails" to their ISP's/ESP's?

Nothing devalues a list as much as selling it.

The value of subscribers on lists is that they know and trust you, and you're the person from whom they wanted to hear.

No commercial autoresponder company will knowingly allow you to import a bought list. And their reasons for that are the very same reasons that you shouldn't try to email them yourself without a commercial autoresponder company: that way, it'll be your internet connection, domain registration and hosting that are exposed to all the risks. It takes only a small proportion of complaints - whether justified ones or not - to cause major problems. Take your tip from the industry experts like GetResponse and Aweber who have high deliverability rates and good reasons for not allowing this activity, and don't allow it yourself, either.
