How profitable it is to create a geo based site?

Hi Warriors:

I owned a US based city related domain and was wondering how profitable it would be to create a classified/directory site. (name of) city listings dot com. It's a small city with not so big population. But there are advertisements on g cpc for city restaurants, resorts, hotels, city homes for sale and etc.

If it is profitable then what would be the best option directory/classified.

I would really appreciate your tips and suggestion

    Building a niche directory is always good. Your biggest hurdle here will be convincing business that you are the one stop hub that people go to for looking up things - think yellow pages. You're probably going to run ads for that as well in GBY.
