Has anyone ever done a giveaway on Facebook?
Basically I have built up a decent sized following in a particular niche and have promised a free gift to someone when I reach a certain amount of shares on a wall post.
As I wish it to be transparent and genuine, is there any type of software or script that I could use with Facebook to make it a completely random choice?
Thanks
Steve

I don't really know of a script for facebook. But there is a script which you could use to randomly choose a winner. However they would need to opt-in again to participate.
Or you could manage this external and make the lottery on a website.

These are all Facebook 'likes' so ideally it would need to integrate with Facebook. Suppose I could send them to my website though if needed. I'm all ears to any suggestions.

Steve, two parts to answer this; First - you are running a promotion (perhaps you didn't know it when you promised the award), but any giveaway on Facebook where there is a winner of some sort it is a promotion, thus must be administrated with facebook apps. So if you do want to comply to facebook rules, perhaps you should consider what you mentioned above - sending them to your site. read more about this on the promotions section; https://www.facebook.com/page_guidel...ionsguidelines

Nevertheless, if you are looking for a solution within Facebook, try randompicker.com they might have what you're looking for.

    Cheers,

I can write a like scraper, it will collect all the likes from your fanpage post, collect all the ids and then you can add them to a webrandomizer and record a video
