    These kinds of site have less or no content indexed so there will be less SEO value now a days.So to attract quality traffic you can try
    create deep categories ( E.g houston daily news update [regional news] , local seo news update[ technology news] )
    Register with relevant forums and add signature (link back to certain categories) ,interested readers will follow the update
    Join the online groups and social media and do the same.

    concentrate on doing update regularly ,add new sites,filter out sites not performing well.
    Add feedburner email subscribe
    Refine and research,increase repeated visits to website.

    I am curious if anyone here has an example of what a successful aggregator site looks like? I am interested in possibly creating one of my own.

    I just would like to make sure that if I go forward with my project, that I will a solid idea of what works and doesn't with this business model.

      It's an affiliate news feed site. Sure you can get plenty of ideas.
      Not sure how well it does but is a good source to have.
