Aweber + Australian Law Question

Hi there

I have not been using aweber for long so bare with me please.

I was looking at buying a list from a local list broker.

The list comprises business email and not personal.

Business and personal information is classified differently in Australia and under spam acts.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not it is possible to import this list of business emails into aweber and to do it easily, legally and with success.

Or has anyone had any experience in this area directly?

I'm in Australia also but not sure of the ruling on that.

What I can tell you is that importing any list into Awber, everyone on that list will be sent an email confirmation and they will need to click a link and confirm their presence on that list before you can send them any emails.

So purchased lists wouldn't work very well I don't think.

  So then could I just email them directly and then work on slowly importing them as time goes on and I get their interest or not?

  I think in your case your best bet is using a self hosted autoresponder or not buying a list.
