Are the investors on indiegogo big companies or just individuals?

If anyone has experience with this i was hoping to ask a quick question.

I know the investors may be a mixture of both, but i mean "generally" are they large companies with plenty of money to invest or are they just wealthy individuals?

Thanks for any information regarding this.

Hi Jerry, they are almost all personal friends of the people starting the fund raising project. If you have a huge list then you can ask them to contribute, but Indiegogo won't send many people to your project unless they see you are getting a lot of the money on your own.

The above is based on having helped with campaigns that were both successful and not, and in all cases I found the site did very little to help.

Really, my god that's after changing my opinion of it, i gave a cousin of mine advice to use it for getting a few hundred dollars toward building an ecommerce website but now i can see that this isn't going to happen.
