Anyone using Hostgators osticket?

Hi,

I've installed it and everything is working fine. The only problem I have is I can't figure out how to get it to alert me when a new ticket is lodged, i.e. send any tickets created/updated to my email inbox. Can anyone shed some light?

I emailed support and they told me to try piping, but it's still not working. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Michelle

I am using osticket support system for my client support ticket and it's hosted on the Hostgator .I am using this for more than two years with out any issues.
The problem you have reported is fixed with the admin settings of the software.
Login to your support system admin panel using admin credentials.
And you will find the " Alerts & Notices" options under the "settings" menu
Select "Enable" radio button for the " New Ticket Alert" option.
You can also change the settings according to other other updates.

      Hi there,

      Thanks for the quick response.

Yes, I have those set, but it doesn't work. Where do you set the email address it sends to? There are so many different options for email addresses. Maybe I haven't set it up correctly.

      Cheers,
      Michelle

    Hi,

First of all osticket is not from 'hostgator'.. It is an open source system see:
osTicket:: Open Source Support Ticket System

First: make sure you have latest version..
Secondly are you using php mailing system or smpt?

I used OSticket a while and had a lot of problems with it.. its pretty damn buggy this system.. I switched to HESK (also free).. don't have problems any more..
