How to turn off a signature in a post , if I do not have now a signature in my WF profile ?

I would like to post a note in a thread with product reviews.
I plan to make a site with a landing page and so on for promoting this product.

Then I will make a signature - but all these things in a future.

Just now I would like to post a note in that thread with a turned off signature.
As a result when I add a signature to my WF profile , it will not be posted under my posts in that thread.

I tried to make a post just now - I was going to Advanced to turn off "Show a signature" box.
But "Show a signature" box was absent in Advanced !
Hence , if I make a post now , then in a future - when I will add a signature in my WF profile - a signature will be posted under my former posts in that thread.

So : "How to turn off a signature in a post , if I do not have now a signature in my WF profile ?"

I´m not sure you can do this, but why would you want to not show your signature in previous posts?

    Yes, you can do that.

After you have your signature set-up, you'll need to go back to that post, click on "edit" and then on "go advanced", and then scroll down below the post and uncheck the box that says "show your signature" before resubmitting the now-amended version. You'll need to do it post-by-post for each post in the thread in which you don't want your signature to show.

Note that posts in threads in the WSO and Reviews forums don't display signatures anyway, even if you do have one set up.

There are various reasons why people might want not to. For instance, if you're promoting some kind of specific service in your sig-file and joining in a conversation about the options available, you certainly wouldn't want anyone (especially the moderators!) imagining that your reason for posting there was to show your own sig-file: that would come across as "promotional posting". It's correct to disable your sig-file on such occasions.

      Hi Alexa,

      Yes, I see your point!

But you would have to go back to each post individually would you, to turn off the signature in that post? You couldn´t, for instance, auto turn off the signature in "all posts prior to the signature being created" ..

Might be a little time consuming to go back and turn off each post manually.. If he´s got a lot of posts before creating the signature.

Yes, as far as I know.

Yes, maybe ... but I think the OP was talking about only one specific thread? (and it might even be a thread in the "Reviews" Forum, in which case the problem doesn't arise at all, as sig-files aren't displayed there).

This will surely be time consuming if you already have lots of posts but seeing your profile, you only have about 27 posts, so it won't take so much of your time.

    Thanks for the info Alexa!

      * My solution :

The simplest way - to keep a line with "Turn off a signature" in Advanced forever : have I currently a signature or not.

It is time consuming to return to every related post.

I do not know how to contact a moderator who in a responsibility for Advanced.

Maybe Alexa Smith (or someone else) knows - and if Alexa Smith (or someone else) supports this solution - please contact that moderator : I plan to become very active at WF and such hand work unpleasant.

We already have that. In fact, it's even easier than that: whenever you make a new post, you can just uncheck the little box below the posting-box that says "Show your signature". If you already have a sig-file, the default is for it to be shown (other than in the WSO and Reviews forums, as mentioned above), but it's as easy as that, to turn it off.

I think you're suggesting that it would be good to be able to do that even when you don't yet have a sig-file, because you already know that in some posts you're making now, you'll want to disable it in future? Well, this is the place to suggest that: http://www.warriorforum.com/suggestion-forum/

Yes , I mean that even when I yet do not have a sig-file the line with sig-file disabling were live.

Thank you for the link - I will go there and post here a result.
