Email Marketing - Too pushy?

After about 6 followups with my list (over the course of 30 days), I'm promoting an affiliate product. On my 7th followup, I have a soft sell of the product.

How many consecutive days of "selling" emails do you recommend? Is 3 consecutive days of email too pushy?

This is not a conventional 4 email launch (over 10 tens).

This is an affiliate product (not my own) that applies directly to the niche.

I start recommending products way earlier than you. (I'd be worried about losing the sale to other affiliates whose lists my subscribers are also on, if I waited that long).

For me, it would be far too pushy. I don't send emails on consecutive days at all. And I don't send "selling" emails, either. (I do sell a lot more without them than with them, overall - I have tested).

The ultimate answer to all these questions is that it depends on your subscribers' expecations, and you're the person who sets those expectations, if you go about it well: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

Thanks very much Alexa. I forgot to mention that I do recommend my product within the 30 days I mentioned - I recommend a product on the 4th email.

At the 10 day mark (after 3 presell emails, I softly pitch my solution, taking them to the sales page).

It was my Upsell (a related affiliate product) that I was asking about.

Thanks for the links. I'll check them out now!

By the way, there are some good and successful marketers who do send daily emails - I'm not suggesting it's "wrong" (it's just not suitable for my traffic demographics).

I've been making pretty good money off a soft sell affiliate link in my free report and I start hard selling by my 4th email too.

The 7th email is way too long to start selling. I made that mistake too when I started list building.

Also, depending on your traffic sources, people who opt into your list should be interested and hungry buyers. If you don't provide some good products after building a relationship, you're definitely going to start having low open and click rates.

I suppose this can depend on what you actually have to offer. For me I am trying a software approach and given tips and things they can add on to make the most out of that product with videos and guides.

I think if you just give away something free then resell after a period of days it can have it affects. The likely hood of people staying on your list should be much better, if you show an interest in the product they are buying, give a review or something that will add value to what they are buying then I think it will build stronger trust.

4 days is a good time, although I would stick to the reason why they signed up in the first place. Once you have gone through a series of helping them out, then decide your next approach on another product / service.

PS: Even a survey after given them a product and giving them a few days to get into it, get them to provide some feedback and ask what they want to learn can really boost interest and it will help you a heck of a lot.
