Question about Domain names

INTERNET MARKETING

I'm having one of those days and I thought I would ask the warriors to explain.

I've registered a domain name. It comes up when I type www. "domain name" but if I leave out the "www" it won't come up. I have other domain names with this register that don't have this problem.

Can someone explain why this would be as I want it to be able to show without the www. ?

I've seen it happen on sites that sit on Microsoft servers. Could this be the problem?

Or if the domain name is for a secure server, you typically have the option of purchasing a secure certificate with or without the "www" so it would depend on how it was registered.

Check w/your hosting company - each one is a little different but I personally don't use any that don't automatically resolve the domain both ways. More and more people are just typing in the domain without the www. so don't stay w/a host that only resolves the www. version
