How long to get malware warning removed using webmaster tools?

So after not following my better instinct and NOT installing Wordpress a couple of years ago for a customer, the wordpress site was hacked. We finally got it cleaned up and will be sending a bill to the customer, and lettingg them know they need to be on a maintenance plan if they are going to keep running wordpress.

I have now submitted that the site is clean in Webmaster Tools. How long will it take to get unblocked you think?

    It should be instant. I had the same problem with one of my sites and all I did was call my hosting company to have them upload it for me. You have to upload googles verification code to your public_html file to your hosting account. My problem was that it was a duplicate and it was labeled incorrectly so the guy I was on the phone with changed it, google acknowledged it, and the warning sign went away.

    Definitely give your hosting company a call. They should be able to help.

    It's not instant. First Google has to get around to doing a review. Then they may or may not agree with you. My site was clean by all accounts except Google's account. It displayed the warning for a couple of months until they finally got it right.

      Yes, I agree with you. I remember it taking a few days last year, but haven't had much experience with this fortunately.
