I need some help with image formatting..

Hey there fellow warriors..

As I'm setting up my WSO that I'm gonna launch very soon the images are not being formatted correctly, well at least one isn't - because it's really only one of the images that there are problems with.

What happens that the one image thats causing problems is that it get seriously resized so that the text on image becomes almost unreadable and makes the design look awful.

The images are loaded from photobucket and JVZoo with IMG tags. Any ideas on how to fix this? My concern is that it might because the image is too large for some reason or something similar.

The test thread can be accessed here.

Anyone who have an idea or knows how to fix this?

Thanks Warriors..

Best Regards
Brian

Not sure, the link you provided is probably only working for you since it's in the test forum.

Yes, the image is probably too large...what are it's dimensions? I wouldn't go with anything wider than 800px but height I've never had problems with.

Are all the layers merged together as one?

It probably is. Hmm.. Maybe I should test it on a different forum?

Actual dimensions are: 749px, 4224px (width, height)

Yes, it's been flattened - saved as .jpeg

It happens even when I upload them here. But there also some filesize limitations to it when storing here.

I'd say chances are the image is too large. Also, where is it hosted...

Not sure exactly what your problem is though

Seems like it might be - because when I view the actual image link it's the same size as when viewed on the thread.

Any suggestions on where to store them or how to fix it so I won't get a compressed image?
      - According to Photobucket which is where they're stored now - there isn't a filesize limit and they retain original sizes.
      - I don't have own server to host them.

I'm not sure if this still works but you could try dropbox.com instead of free image hosts (that will sometimes compress your image, as stated already).

Also, chop up the image. 4000 pixels high might be enough for it to be buggy. Do 4 images at 1000 pixels each (approximately, just where it makes sense to do it).

If you have a hosting account with any website on it, just upload the image to your image folder in that account, and get the URL to your image in that account and place that in the WSO thread. Simple...

Dropbox - Why didn't I think of that - though I don't think it'll work. Not unless I can direct links to the actual files in the dropbox.. Of course it's worth looking into.

[EDIT] - Dropbox possibility tested - Doesn't work.

Oh, that makes sense, it might be because it's limited in height. There also limitations to how many images I can use in a WSO - apparently 10 is the maximum. Maybe that can be increased?

          Good to see you Steve

Yes, that is simple, I guess I could do that as well. Though I would like to keep my websites from my WSO that are not affiliated with it somehow.

I am coming up with my WSO tomorrow and this is what I have done.

Create one image (doesn't matter how big it is)
Slice it into multiple images using something like Photoshop
    Upload the images to imgur.com
Get the links and insert them into sales thread.

Make sure that you don't have more than 8 images because you also need some image counts left for your buy buttons.

I recommend you upload your full image to imgur.com for now and share the link here so that other warriors can look at it and tell you what the problem is.

Without looking at it we can only guess which most likely will not help you..

And yes make sure the width of the image is 740 Px or else it will break out of the frame on the thread...

The other images are exactly the same width as the larger image which is 749 px - I even tried rescaling the width to 740 px - no change.

However chopping it up into two images made the a little bigger
-They were cut in half -so half size in height.

I'll try Imgur.com to see if helps anything.

Photobucket was the whore in this - not gonna use that anymore.

        Imgur.com - problem solved.

Thank you everyone for your advice and help
