What It Really Takes...

I see questions like this on the forum, can I do this? What is the best way to...? How do I do...? What technique do I use to get...? How much money can I earn...? I see these questions on the forums every day! So here it is people, anyone who asks these sorts of questions, here are your answers.

Your earnings are directly related to the amount of time you put in and the knowledge you have. To attain knowledge in this business you either need to pay for it or be shown it by someone who truly knows there stuff. For me I had an uncle who has been in IM for 15 years, do you know what he taught me, one thing and one thing only! He told me that selling online is all about "selling the dream" If it be a dream of selling someone how to become financially independent or if its wood working plans to build their dream shed. Either way you are selling a "dream". To sell someone a dream you need to solve a "problem", there are always obstacles in the way of a dream, these obstacles are "problems".

If you want to sell someone the dream you need to know the audience! Finding the right audience is key in this world, no matter what niche it is, finding the correct customer for your product is imperative. Every customer has a problem! If you want to solve someone's problem you need to "understand what the problem is", if you understand what the problem is and have "researched" a way to correctly solve this problem then you are getting somewhere. Here is the right kick in the nads, to sit there and correctly research how to solve that problem it takes "time + trial and error!"

How do you think all these people got successful online without a mentor? They sat there day after day looking at how to solve the problem, tested it, tested it some more, failed, re tried another solution, tested it some more and then finally they got it. "They put the time in to learn, understand, test and succeed". If you are writing a post asking how to do something, why not go out and find it yourself! Every piece of information you will ever need to make money online is plastered over the online world and it is there for free but to get this information you need to do "research!" not the "easy option of asking the forum". Don't get me wrong, asking questions are a good thing but before asking, do your due diligence, try finding the answers out for yourself and "you will be a better marketer!"

Do you know one of the most important questions I learnt to ask was, it's very simple, it was, why? Why is this happening? Why isn't this working? Why do I have no traffic? Why do my blogs have a 50% bounce rate? Why, why, why.... If you keep asking that and "How" then you will be able to do a lot more online! If you master them questions, how and why, instead of, oh warrior forum, let's go ask there, "you will be a better marketer!" Don't get me wrong, we are all at fault here, we have all looked for the easy answers, dam I know I did but then I realised that it was getting me nowhere!

So now we have learnt this so far: We know we need to ask why and how; We know it will take a lot of trying before we succeed and possibly failing; We know before we can succeed we need to truly research what is wrong and how best to present a solution; Then we need to present that solution to our targeted audience; Once the problem has been sold, we need to sell them the dream! Now I have missed the most important lesson out.

Here is the most important lesson, it is said on this forum over and over again! To actually succeed online you need to do. I don't mean a blog post a day, no, that's not enough, people who are seriously making money in this market are working massive hours a day! They are not doing 4-5 messily hours, try 12-16 hours +!!! All credit to them to, they are reaping the rewards of their effort because they were willing to "take action"!!

So to bring this whole circle to my initial paragraph, all the questions asked, go out and find the answers yourself, they are out there, heck use the search function at the top of the page! Every answer you will ever need is out there, it just takes time and patience to find the correct answer. If you are not willing to "invest" that "time" into understanding something and are looking for the easy option then let me save you the time now, quit! The only people who will succeed online are the people who put the time in, not the people who seek easy answers.

My little 2am rant !! I hope you learnt something from this, if not, then I did my best . Thoughts and any additions please add .

    This is such good advice.

Unfortunately most people will not see it that way, or just see it as a cliche.

But it's true. If you want make money the easiest thing to do is to solve problems. Well, to find a group of people with a similar problem and solve that.

Yet so many people start with a product then look for a group of people who might or might not be interested in that product and then they try and sell it to them.

The worst is when someone finds a product or creates a product and then they just randomly start targeting people, and end up focusing on trying to convince those who don't want it to buy it.

There was a post within the last two weeks just like this where one of the warriors kept promoting WSO's to his list but they weren't buying. Instead of seeing or realizing that is not what they wanted, he was asking us how to convince these people to buy what they clearly didn't want.

People don't realize how hard they are making things for themselves when they work in this fashion.

If they were to realize how easy it is or how much easier the process you are talking about is, sure it takes work and time, but finding a group of people first, then taking the time to understand what their problems are, and then figuring out how to solve those problems is a lot easier than trying to sell to people who don't want what you are selling.

Oh I know It is surprise how many people don't apply the KISS principle to online and go for the complicated answers. I have had my fair share of experience getting bombarded with useless emails which will never drive me to make a purchase, the worst type are the products which you purchase has just been re hashed crap and people wounder why they have massive refund rates! They seem to forget, the more effort they put into their own product, the better off they will be.

What about affiliates who promote flat screen tv's, survival gear, sewing machines and many other tangible products. What about Kindle publishers who are killing it online.

There are many ways to earn a living online and I for one wouldn't want to sell a dream, I know that there are many who do but it's not my cup of tea.

These folks are the ones who are chasing the dream as you say. They are to lazy to do any type of research for themselves and rather have things handed to them on a plate.

When I need to research a topic, I use Google and good ole Youtube, it surprises me how any keyword that I have ever typed into youtube , brought back just what I was looking for.
Dreams come in many different forms and I think for me this I why I used the word. Owning a flat screen tv could easily be a dream, same goes for the rest of it, it all depends on how you want to market it. Ultimately it comes down to selling them something they want and they don't have it, which solves their problem. Why stop there thought? Once they bought the tv, why not sell them their dream home cinema or something like that, same can be applied for many markets.

I am sure most of the people who do chase it wont do anything with the information but if the product is good and you put a lot of effort into it, you can't do nothing about that. You done the best you could, it is not your fault that they fell through with it. Same for me, I love a good you tube video to explain to me what I am looking for, I used it everyday or ill go old school and break out the science book if it is relevant. Unfortunately people don't realise a lot of what they need is already out there, they just need to type 6 words into google etc...
