Wait 'til you see some of the domain sales that will be taking place on April 27-30 at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Silicon Valley Auction... hundreds of thousands, and some in the millions each. Of course many will be in the 5-figures as well. Domaining is more alive than ever for quality domains. I have an exceptional domain that will be presented at that auction, and am looking forward to sharing that experience once it's over.

Wow that sounds exciting! I've always wanted to get into domaining but I think its too expensive to get into now. What do you think?

Exciting, yes! There's no guarantee that my domain will sell, but based on the opinion of the pros who do these auctions, it will.

Too expensive? That kind of thinking is what's preventing you from success. The domaining opportunity is wide open. Too expensive compared to what? Like any other product, you buy for one price, and sell for a higher price. You make a profit. I very rarely pay more than $8 registration fee for all my domains, and sell them for $300 to $1000 or more.

Getting back on topic, whoever purchased viewit.com knows what they're doing... people don't just drop $40,000 on a domain name without calculating the profits they'll achieve by using it.

I think I've got some in that auction too, but haven't heard which ones yet. Hopefully It'll be good.

That's just not true. I picked up a load of .info domains last year for 99 cents on godaddy and have flipped nearly all of them for between $30 and $80 a go. Ok not massive money but I had about 50 so some nice easy money. If you reinvested this in some solid .com's then you could certainly trebble and more the first return. Gene actually has a really nifty domain flipping method I've read from local businesses.

While the amount is good. I still think that price will double or treble over the next 5-10 years.

Domains are good but 40k, it is really over-paid. I prefer to clone it.

  • I thought www.zixby.com and www.nchit.com would have brought me some money, but so far I havent been able to get rid of them...minus a $40 offer.

Is there something I need to be doing different?

Pick better domains? Seriously, do these domains have anything going for them in the form of traffic or revenue? Because on their own, there is not much value. Sorry!
