Ive recently read that Facebook is going to test the $1 fee for messages to non-friends. In my opinion, this new feature can be useful. PM people with related offers according to their interest? Your thoughts?

I really do not get the thought process behind this... apart from the obvious fact Facebook is looking at other ways they can monetize a platform they always wanted to be free to use.

So you are not encouraged to send messages to people you don't know BUT if you are willing to pay Facebook $1 for those messages, that makes it ok?

Are they serious? Are they pumping drugs into the Facebook offices now?

It's actually pretty sad that they have no idea how to monetize their huge database.

Doesn't make any sense to me. I will instantly send commercial messages I get to spam folder. Pay to spam. Is that the best they can come up with?
