Does Anyone Know How To Do This On Youtube? (clickable thumbnail inside video)

Hi there,

I think this is a new feature inside of youtube, a few months old maybe. I noticed some videos have a clickable image that takes the visitor to a different video.

Here is a screen shot that shows what I'm talking about: 2012-12-21_1001 - MarcusO's library

I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this?

I've been looking around and can't find any info on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This can be accomplished in two steps.

    1) In your video editing software overlay the image or even another video clip on top of the main track. Usually you will add another video track above the main layer. Then resize and drag the item to its spot.

If it's an image, place it at the right point in time, then stretch the duration out and add some in and out fades or flips

    2) Once uploaded to YouTube, add a linkable box annotation around the image at the right point in the video. Adjust the border to your liking.

    And there you have it.

Thanks for the info, I never thought it like that, for some reason I was thinking this was a feature that could be done inside of youtube. But the way you explained makes total sense.

      Thanks!

The op was asking about linking to another YouTube video.

However, there is some external linking annotation capability in the works at YouTube.

Yeah, that's a really great feature. Video Marketers should make effective use of Annotations. They not only make your videos more interactive, but good rankings too!
