What is a site description and what information should this include?

Im outsourcing some seo stuff. I've been asked to provide a site description of about 500 words. I know it sounds self explanatory but what kind of information should this include about the site, or can it just be an article from my site?

    Hi Jigga,

    A description of your site is simply a paragraph that describes what your site is about or what it offers readers. If it's a forum or community for instance, add that in, and what kind of forum or community it is, along with how the forum or community will benefit its members, etc ...

    I usually add some of my main keywords and phrases in my decriptions too in the beginning sentence or two.

    Btw, 500 words seems like a very long description for your site. I'd write out maybe 250-350 words max, but that's me. It really can be as long as you want it to be though as long as it benefits you and your site.

    For instance, some of my descriptions are only 150 -250 words, but that's all Ineed or want.
