It's so easy to get new affiliates...

Hey guys,

I am bit surprised & excited too at the same time.

I have just launched the wso this after noon. This is my first how to wso and I am happy with the results. Not a thousand dollar launch but still it's good because it's my first launch.

Now the question for you guys is this. I just logged in to my w+ account to check the stats and saw that there were 6 people wanting to promote my product.

Now I am excited about this but at the same time it's seems too good to be true.

I mean in order to get one affiliate signed up with average list you have to do so much grunt work. I mean follow ups, reciprocal mailings, prices, etc, etc but here I have done nothing and have never really heard of these guys before but they want to promote my product..

What would you do this such case. I mean do you promote anyone to promote your product or are there any specific criteria you guys look for before you approve someone to promote your product.

      screen them first; with their username you can find out about their activity on this forum., their reputation. consider those whose who giving value to the forum not ones with less than 30 posts, no thanks...

      The worst thing that can happen from accepting bad affiliates is; excess refunds (affects your paypal).

        Yeah, that's the plan. I have pmed them to add me to skype so that I can have a word with them.

        Luckily couple of those guys were with 1000+ posts on the forum and when I checked their posts they were really adding value to the forum so I approved them and I will talk to the rest of the guys..

    Bharat, in my limited WSO experience and that I've heard from others, you will get affiliates who want to promote. Some will, some won't. Some have lists and others don't. Some have big dreams and others don't try.

    Click through to see who these people are. Look for their post count. Are they active or maybe spamming? Do not automatically approve. If you have questions you can always contact them through the WF and talk with them on skype. If you think it's sketchy - it probably is.

    Be very careful. There are affiliate scams happening, mostly if you use the instant payment option. Do not approve anyone you don't know for instant payments. Here is a topic with details. There have been other topics on it.

    Yeah, you want to make sure they at least don't lower your image. You have a reputation of having a quality product. The last thing you want is that reputation to be tarnished by dodgy affiliates with dodgy sites. You need to make sure they're going to maintain your image or better it through their endorsement.

      Yeah, that's the only concern I have right now because this is my first how to product I don't want to create some negative personality on the forum or more importantly with my customers.

        Just make sure you check out the affiliates sites and see what their level of quality is beforehand.

    Some of those affiliates may be guys with small lists that can generate some sales, but be careful to avoid guys who will be using shaddy tactics to promote your product, because it may get you into troubles with Paypal (high refund rate).

      I would stay away from instant payment. Nobody outside of Warriors do that. Maybe weekly payments in special circumstances but daily... no way. Net30 is the default option period. I don't pay out faster than that nor do I expect to be paid faster than that.

    Not all affiliates are created equal. The 6 affiliates you got may not earn you anything. In any affiliate program, only around 5%-10% will bring you the most money. Advertising on Clickbank and Paydotcom will get you instant affiliates. Also, create an affiliate sign up page and submit to the affiliate directories.

    It Doesn't mean all of the six affiliates will make you any money. You just need one or two "good" ones to make tons of sales. It's normal in case you are not familiar, for affiliates to be requesting to promote your WSO nothing to be too happy about.

    When I launched my WSO I got about 78 affiliate requests. 68 of them never did a thing. 5 did some sales, 4 did quite a few sales, and one I had to remove because he was sending me tons of bad traffic. I think thats how it will be, you will get 90% of your sales from 10% of the affiliates.

    Congratulations, but be extremely careful. Some affiliates actually bring a site down with them due to their bad reputation. Also, more affiliates/traffic doesn't mean more traffic. Just my two cents!
