Have you tried commenting on other popular niche related videos? I choose a popular weight loss video that was created a month ago and had 30,000 views as well as some likes/comments. I therefore added a comment to say that the video was informative and would help me to lose weight. When others saw my comment, I got traffic to my youtube weight loss video.

Try to promote your video using Facebook Page and Twitter.
IF you do backlink, it can help your YouTube video get higher ranking on Google search

Create 30 second vids to use as video responses to related, but not conflicting videos i.e. not competitors - just remember you can only use a video once for a video response

I will be following this thread as I feel my 6 hairstyle tutorial videos need some more visitors. I just looked into the stats and we have attracted about 15,000 views in the past 8 months. Commenting on other videos of your niche works the best (telling you from my past 4 days' experience) Social Media and Forums are also recommended.

Social bookmarking apparently works well to get backlinks to improve the video ranking. Also, you can embed videos on a blog, it then counts as a backlink.

Yep...What Sandy said. If you add a video as a video response to another video, you are just changing what video you are responding to, not adding another video.

There's many video marketing methods. In general, if it's a direct sales type video, concentrate on SEO and linking. If it's an interesting, entertaining and/or informative video, concentrate more on using Youtube's many internal marketing strategies.

like OP, i am stuck on the '10' views mark... i rarely comment, but after reading above posts, i guess that's what i should try next. YouTube is a great source of traffic, and i have brought many products after watching videos. So, i would certainly give it a shot.

The best advice I can give you at this time from my own experience is to DAILY add new videos and see what others are doing to get ranked high.

If you take a look at those videos that are similar to yours and have 1000's of views, see what they are doing and get some ideas from them too. Nothing wrong with that.

  There are some decent responses here for the leg work of videos once you produce and upload them however, the most overwhelmingly important factor for gaining some traction on your videos and your channel is to create valuable content that your niche is searching for.
  
  Now when I say valuable, I really mean you must absolutely over deliver on the expectations of the viewer. Your videos must have a "holy sh|t factor" for your audience in some way or another. It could mean being more entertaining, more informative, more different or more dramatic etc, but you NEED something the audience can identify or associate with you.
  
  If they aren't hitting your subscribe button, then you are NOT delivering a reasonably good value proposition for your audience.

I would recommend trying video syndication, using tube mogul or traffic geyser. Build backlinks also helps tones seo wise and for getting ranked in google.

Add your YouTube video to video search engines. Make smart, search engine optimized titles and descriptions. Promote your videos on social networks. Include a link to your YouTube account in all of your emails. Make "video responses" on YouTube.
