Question for domain name flippers

Just a question for domain name flippers. When you obtained a good domain name, you are locked with the domain name for 60 days right?

In other words, even if you find a good domain name, you can't flip it till 60 days later for big profits. If within the 60 days your domain Pagerank drops, you lose the potential money.

Is that correct? Or am I wrong?

    Hi Joseph,

    as far as i am aware as soon as you register a domain you are able to sell it after around a 72 hour period. I may be wrong however, it seems harsh that you would have to keep a domain for 2 months.

      You can sell the domain anytime you want too, the problem is the transfer of the domain name. A lot of registrars will not let you transfer the domain to another registry until 60days has passed.

      BUT, most domain registrars like Godaddy, allows you to "Push" the domain to another Godaddy account user for free, at anytime(doesn't matter if it is before or after 60days).

    Per ICANN, you can't transfer a domain which is NOT at least 60 days old. I am not an expert on domain flipping, but the above held true when it comes to domain transfer.

    No, not at all!

    You can't normally change registrars within 60 days. I think this is what you're thinking of?

    So if your purchaser doesn't have an account at the registrar where you registered it, they have to open one (which is usually free) and can't themselves normally transfer it back to their usual registrar (if they wanted to do that anyway) within the first 60 days of the domain's "life". You can sell your rights to it whenever you like, though.

    You can push the domain into a new account on the same registrar. This can be done once you own the domain and the 60 days time doesn't apply to this.

    If you can flip it for big money, and after 60 days the domain Pagerank drops, what the buyer get or loss?
    If you make money by this method, are you sure you are building your Business?
    If you know it will happen, and you still make profits from it, do you know how they will re-name your name?

    That is not a problem at all. You can "push" the domain to another account within the same registrar immediately. If your buyer does not have account at that specific registrar, it is free and easy to open it.

      Yes, exactly the domain can be transfer to another account so it shouldn't be a problem.

    You can flip it immediately. The only thing you can't do is transfer it out of the registrar you bought it from for 60 days. You get the new owner to open a free account at the registrar you bought it from and you simply push the domain to them. Just google push domain [registrar name] for instructions on how to do that if you don't know how.
