Getting Back into the Game- tips?

Hello all- wondering if any product, dominateIm.com or other similar resources would be a good fit for me, or if you'd recommend coaching or other resources?
I don't want to mess around. I'm hungry, not desperate. I've had some decent success in the past and want to do it again.

My background:
Worked for a software company for a few years in marketing, got laid off years ago and had some great success in launching a small shareware software package from $400/year to $10K/month in sales by recruiting affiliates, redoing marketing copy, ramping up advertising. Was shafted by my business partner, lost all revenue share after a few months of hitting that target.

Currently, I do the marketing for my friend's business, and helped him grow primarily through recruiting independent sales associates for him through the Web, email, and phone calls (not an mlm). Although it started very slow, this is fairly easy money now, with extra time, and I work at home. I really want to diversify for security AND to take advantage of the upcoming deals during our current economic depression.

Skills/Knowledge:
-Basic knowledge of HTML, photoshop, etc. I'm not a designer or web guy and prefer to leave that work to others that are better/faster.
-Familiar with setting up blogs, adwords, etc.
-Familiar with a lot of general internet marketing, not an expert in any one field. I've been an info junkie on the side, want to get out of this mode and into "doing", not just "Consuming" more info.
-A decent copywriter, do a lot of marketing copy
-Have outsourced menial labor to others in india, etc. and am OK doing that to ramp up projects.
-Decent at telemarketing, OK with hitting the phones now and then to ramp things up, find partners, etc.

I'm OK investing a few hundred in a proven recipe, then investing thousands more or reinvesting the whole thing into a bigger project. I'm OK paying others to do work for me to make things go faster. For example, I now have a craigslist poster that does $1 postings. Could I figure out how to do it myself? Maybe, but that $1 brings back a lot more for me and I can focus on other things.

Having another solid income of 5-10K a month would be a dream for me.
Not interested in any kind of mlm (sideline here, but studies show that less than .01% actually make anything after their costs and fees).

Basically, my goal would be to start with a medium size project, then expand to bigger and better things.

This has turned out to be a LONG post. Sorry. My goal is to put this all out there, and get your thoughts and ideas on coaching vs. DIM vs. any other product or solution, and other options.

Thank you!

I see you have a talent in marketing.

Find the guy who owns a sellable product and offer him commission-based relationship without asking anything upfront (but introducing yourself and starting at base commission level). Do better than average affiliate (which usually means better than nothing) and grow from there.
If you like the product, like the partnership, bring plenty of leads, have a good contact with owner - you'll move closer to be at a "super affiliate" status which usually means around 50/50 ratio for good serious product (spare me from clickbank trash pls).

Not sure if above would sounds interesting or so, but just my take....

Thanks for the quick feedback. I do like what I see here, and there are plenty of great resources. I guess what I really need is a few good recipes or a mentor to help me get going on a quick path vs. lots of surfing, exploring, etc. which is what I've been doing for a while now on the side.
I'm ready to get going fast and get serious.
    Thanks again!

I would start using a method on your own and keep note of your strengths and weaknesses and then and only then seek out help in the form of coaching, mentoring, or purchasing products.

Many of the products that you will run across are really nothing more than a lead in to the next product, if you know what I mean.

So for instance, if you wanted to give a go at site flipping start doing the basic things that you know you need to do like...

      picking a niche
      getting some good keywords
setting up your site or your blog
      adding content to it
      list it for sale

See how it goes. Who knows, maybe you hit a home run simply by taking action. If however it brings you less money than you were expecting or maybe there is a step along the way that you just can't grasp, seek out some sort of instruction product then.

Regardless of the method or business model there is a ton of free information here at this forum and other places that will do more than just get you started on your way to earning

Thanks, this is probably what I'll do-
approach folks who have a good product, need to ramp up affiliate network or get sales going in general.

You need a niche and a product to promote first... that's where you need to start.
