Hi quick question,

When creating a WSO do I need to change any settings in my Paypal area. For example at the moment my Paypal is not a business account. Would that matter at all?

Thanks guys .

It's always risky to use a personal Paypal account for business. If you do any sales, you'll most likely get limited pretty fast.

You can also lose your account altogether as it's against the PayPal TOS.

It shouldn't matter, but if you anticipate generating a lot of sales, I would get a business account.

I think a Primary account will do the job ..as you can buy and sell using it. I don't know if you can change your account type from personal to primary or business account..

There's no such thing as a "primary" account, David.

If you meant "premium", you're mistaken: selling a WSO through a "premium personal" PayPal account is very likely indeed to lead to problems, exactly as it has for so many others.

even the business account you need to be careful. I recommend you use the tool that wf gives you to make sales or other tools to track your sales, roi and so on

I think Alexa means PREMIERE account.

      Just teasing. :p

But seriously, if you are doing business then you open a business account. Just like if you are doing business you open a business bank account. Paypal don't provide business accounts because they DON'T want you to use them. So make sure you get the right account before going forward -- it will save you a lot of unnecessary headaches.

You can use the premiere account to do business, Alexa. I did for several years until I finally made the switch to a full business account. The TOS allows either one, but there are certain things that only come with a business account.

^^ What she says... I also used my Premiere account for many years without any problem.

In many places you can have 3 kind of accounts:
          - personal
          - Premiere
          - Business
Do NOT accept payments for your 'business' with personal account! Ever.

FYI: in some countries you can have only 2 of the above options!

            Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice. It does make sense if your doing business to have a business account. I switched over, I prefer it because you can be more transparent with paypal when you fill out the form. Just waiting to see if my WSO gets approved. Fingers crossed .

          Hi Tina,

Do you have any idea if there is a limit number of orders/sales allowed for the Premiere/Premium Paypal account please?

  • Hello!
If I were you, I'd certainly go for the Premiere or the Business account if you are aiming/getting high sales for your site in order to avoid any conflicts (limitations, blocks) on PayPal. I once had issues accepting business payments on a personal account, so avoid doing that. Good luck!

You can always upgrade, but if you are using your account for business pretty much get the business asap.
