how to put a youtube video on a wso thread help!

Hey guys,
i know this is stupid to a lot of you, but that's ok

so..

how do you insert a youtube video on a wso thread ? all i can figure out is how to put a link there, and when i tried using the add link button and put the embed code in, everything went horribly wrong

any help is appreciated !!

Grab the URL of the video like this

and just copy it in the post, that's it.

You don't need to copy the embed code, simply the URL.

guys, i can't get it to work. i am going into forum code mode on the thread and putting the url, then centering it. it's not working. it only shows a centered youtube url...any thoughts why?

@ matt, make sure you have the "automatically embed media" and "automatically parse links" options turned on.

When you are responding to a post and you click on "go advanced" below where you enter the text there is a box that says "Additional Options"

In that box the first thing you should see is "Automatically Parse Links in Text" and "Automatically embed Media"

You want to make sure that both of those are selected.

Guys, the problem isn't the code, or the way he's copy & pasting it (obviously there is only one way to copy & paste, so that couldn't be it.. duh)

The problem is the link he's using.

Matt was trying to use the https option - it needs HTTP - NOT HTTPS

Notice I embedded his video with no problems?

I used http instead of https

Matt,

You also need to keep in mind that a Youtube video will not display UNTIL your WSO thread has been approved and paid for. When creating and previewing your WSO thread you will only ever see the Youtube video link. It will only turn into an actual video once paid for.

This confuses a lot of people.

Matt, as Will says you can't see your thread until you pay the listing fee of $40. But once you pay, your thread will go live instantly.

Just make use of the "Test Forum" and test your entire salespage there!

Yes, I think Will said it above.....LOL! I spent (wasted) so much time trying to get that to work on my WSO, I kept hitting Preview Post and NO VIDEO. LOL. But once the WSO was live, it was working. So just post that link in there and it should be there when its live.
