Hi All,

Complete newbie here...although with the amount of information I've consumed over the last 3 months, I feel like I'm getting a better idea of the bigger picture.

I'm building a website, and have done minimal link building or traffic generation, but somehow people are finding my site, and signing up for my free guide + subscription to my newsletter.

My free guide didn't exist this time yesterday, but as a number of people started signing up I threw one together ASAP!! It has some affiliate links in the guide.

Anyway, the question really is, how to monetise this list?

The hit rate of them clicking my aff. links in my document is probably going to be pretty low (although I'm going to redo the doc over the Xmas period if I'm sober enough), but I was following the very rough strategy of:

Offer free product
Build List
Upsell something really good.

I know I've got the option of creating my own info product...there's a couple of ideas I have for that, but in the meantime I was hoping to sell an electronic item through Clickbank.

This is all fine and good, but what I'm trying to achieve would mean I can effectively have my own sales page, with a buy now button.

At the moment I can only see the option of redirecting the lead to the sellers own sales page.

Is there a wordpress plugin that can be used to fully integrate it with my site?

I've looked high and low, but can't see anything conclusive.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd recommend making your own product(s). If it's good enough, you'll thank me for saying that later on. Redo your free product immediately. You don't want people to read through it thinking it's rushed. Your free product needs to be of extremely high quality and must entice people to buy from you.

      Hi Confined to Life,

      Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I intend to! I wasn't expecting people to sign up so quickly! They're still coming too!

I think you're right about making my own product, but in the meantime I would really like an integrated Clickbank solution. So if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears!

Thanks, and have a great Christmas

I haven't much experience with affiliate marketing with Clickbank but I believe you're required to link to the owner's hoplink (their sales page) to be credited with the commission. Not sure if there's a way to go directly to the checkout page from your sales page, unfortunately. :/

You can link direct to the order/payment-page, with the vendor's permission (which will typically be granted, I think). But doing so doesn't set your affiliate cookie on your prospective customers' computers. That means that you'll still be paid for the ones who "buy now", following your link, but you'll lose your commission if they later return to the product's sales page and buy by clicking on a link on that page which takes them back to the order/payment page.

I don't do this, myself, but there are successful ClickBank affiliates who do. If you find a product that you really want to promote, for which you already have a targeted list, but there's something about its sales page that makes you unwilling to send your traffic there, it would perhaps be a viable alternative?

Build a repor with your list ask them questions, offer them good tips don't just bombard them with promo emails you look after them an in return they will look after you, by clicking your affiliate links in mails you send them

Do you have follow up sequence setup once they have signed up?
If not I'd recommend creating atleast 7 follow up emails of good content providing them with tips etc then maybe for the 8th add an affilaite offer that is relevant to the the topic they subscribed for..

So sorry guys, my notification for the thread didn't come through so I didn't see your replies.

    Thanks for the advice.

Yes I have a follow up email, and have revamped my free product. The list is building really nicely! It surprises me each time it goes up.

I've still not got a premium product to sell them, so perhaps doing a case study/review on a CB product, which then in turn sent them to the vendors sales page. I think that's the way to go.

I've found a great product on clickbank which is converting for me using other methods, so it would make sense to use that one for the list where I expect the conversion rate to be higher, and then experiment with a few other CB products I've got on my shortlist.

Hope you all had a great xmas and new year
