      Curious auction.

I see, among the five, one of obvious potential value, two I find it hard to believe can be worth much more than reg-fee, and two I can't assess at all. (Which is partly why I sell domain-names at auction, rather than buying them that way!)

I won't be bidding, so the maximum I'd go to has already been exceeded.

What's your interest in these, Michael? It must be "mobilesetup.com" that you fancy, really, I'm guessing?

On a bit of a tangent, I got a kick out of the huy trying to hype the value of one of the names by giving search volume for the word "chair". I'm sorry, but that is so incredibly generic that the searches could be for anything from parliamentary procedure to execution methodology.

This reminds me of the estate auctions I used to attend occasionally. The auctioneers would fill a box with crap and throw one or two desirable items in on top, then sell the box. If you wanted one of the items, you had to take them all.

My advice? If you're only interested in one of the names, figure out what that name is worth to you. Bid that amount, then forget about it. If you get it, you get it at a price you are satisfied to pay. If you don't get it, you didn't overpay for something due to a feeding frenzy.

John, you never fail to post highly-informative and relevant answers based on logic, common sense, and experience. I did a search on your posts and all I've seen were on point. Thanks for being an asset to this community and please keep posting. One success metric I use for WF is the amount of knowledge I gain. And posters such as yourself help out tremendously towards that personal goal of mine. Thanks again!

It's worth to you Michael is as much as you're willing to pay for it.

Nobody here can read your mind what your plans are for this domain.

Only you can know how much this is worth to you.

If you're absolutely certain in your mind you can make let's say, a million dollars annually from this business idea, then of course you won't mind investing whatever you need to, to get your hands on this perfect name for your business.

If on the other hand you haven't got much clue what you want to really do with this domain then the amount you're willing to invest to acquire it will obviously be less.

This is a decision only you can make.

Nobody here can really give you any guideline on your question.

        Exactly.

I'd advice you not to bid for anything unless you have plans. By plans, I mean something in your mind that may bring any value, long or short term. If you know how to market these domains you can determine their value.

For example, buy them cheaply from this guy and then resell them properly for much more.

I don't think age means anything without age and backlinks. I searched the first three on the waybackmachine. Nothing. They have never been used as far as I can tell, so probably have few, if any, backlinks.

I can't imagine that Google would give any weight to age if the domain has never been used.

Depends on what you plan to do with them, and how much their age/keywords in the domain helps you is what tells you how much they're worth to you. They all look to be good for dropshipping businesses, especially the dvd and chair one
