How many subscribers of yours will purchase? I see a lot of beginners failing to convert on hundreds of subscribers before making sales.

How big was your list when you made your first sale?

I do regular promotions to my list when I have something of true value to recommend.

The sales to sub ratio though is different for every single promotion, obviously.

I made my first sales when I had zero subs. The subs came as a result of the sales and then more sales came as a result of those subs. And so the cycle continues.

This is a good question. I'm not really happy with how my list is converting myself.

I understand that every list and promotion is going to be different, but does anyone have a good overall format for structuring an initial follow-up sequence after someone has signed up (but not bought anything yet)? I patterned the one I'm using off of a sequence that I got from Adam Short over at Niche Profit Classroom (the one for his betta fish site), but I'm sure there are a lot of improvements that can be made.

That's the question we're all asking. To answer it, you must simply work hard on your sales funnel and email campaign. There's really nothing else to say. This is what you need for good conversions, to make it simple for you.

      1. An excellent product
      2. An excellent sales page
      3. An excellent email campaign

That's it really. Of course, having people not completely uninterested in your products on your freebie seekers list is important too.

A good email campaign is one that moves your prospect closer to their desired outcome, whether they buy something from you or not. Imagine someone signs up for weight loss tips. Imagine you give them free and valuable content on a regular basis that helps them get closer to their desired weight loss goal. Are they going to like you? Are they going to start to trust you? Are they likely to open your emails? Are they more likely to buy products you create and/or recommend?

Every now and then you also recommend related products that will help turbo charge their results and get them closer to their desired outcome much faster.

But of most important is my first line in this post. Whether or not someone buys a product you sell or recommends, they should still feel as though they are getting value from you and they should still be inching closer and closer to their desired outcome with the help of the free information you are providing.

Well, I guess it's about providing a combination of usefulness and also enticement. You want your subscribers to purchase from you. You do that by making the offer too good to resist.

To achieve this irresistibleness, you must offer that usefulness. It's a vicious cycle. Impossible to say what will and will not work for your list.

I get my first sale through list building when i had 50 subscriber. Don't shy to send email to your subscriber. Even though you had 10 subscriber, just send them email.

  • Actually I've a list of 283 contacts, and I'm getting 1 to 3 sales each and every day.
Most depends on how you market to your lists, and I've found the right equilibrium.

Thanks so much and see you soon,
    Alessandro

Awesome stuff! May I ask how much your main product is selling for?
