Just need some guidance

I have three blogs recently set up using Bring the fresh and is getting some traffic...not enough, but some.

I am now learning about list building.

What I will like to do is use the site with the most traffic to get leads. I don't want to put the op-in form on the site itself, but set up a separate squeeze page with thank you form and download page.Questions are:

1.) Do I have to get optimize press or some other software to do the squeeze page?

2.) If not how can I do this otherwise? I am already using Wordpress.

3.) How will this work if I put the squeeze page as the landing page and not any of the site pages or posts? Will the site still get traffic if this is done?

4.) Will this interfere with Google or will Google interfere with me?

The Site is Bring The Fresh Online Income

This is an affiliate related sites. and the traffic averages 25-45 persons per day.

I am new here and read all the dos and don'ts. Hope I did the right thing.

PS. I will move all the affiliate links off this site when this is done.

Can someone explain what tags refer to. Is it the same as tags on a website?

You should at least use a sidebar opt-in form.

1.) Do I have to get optimize press or some other software to do the squeeze page?
    Nope!

2.) If not how can I do this otherwise? I am already using Wordpress.
Make your own? I have a squeeze page converting on 68% that is 5 lines of code long. All it is, is a picture of my eCover and an opt-in form below. If you send me a PM, I can show you how basic and simple it is.

Alternatively, you could look for a stand-alone template. There are plenty of good, free templates out there. A quick Google Search and you'll be done.

3.) How will this work if I put the squeeze page as the landing page and not any of the site pages or posts? Will the site still get traffic if this is done?
I'd recommend using the blog as the landing page. Use your blog to harvest your traffic. Provide value to your readers. Include a sidebar opt-in form. From within the blog, hyperlink to your squeeze page.

Perhaps send 65% of your backlink traffic to your blog and 35% to your squeeze page? That's what I've been doing with good results.

The last thing you want is for someone to see you as a faceless free product simply because they can't make any correlation between your squeeze page and your actual site.

4.) Will this interfere with Google or will Google interfere with me?
It won't be a problem. Don't expect your squeeze page to get ranked though. You'll need to use referral traffic for it.

Almost. Your posts on the homepage don't use excerpts. It's advised that you never display your full posts on the homepage. This creates a duplicate content issue with Google. Use the 'More Tag' on your blog posts so as to avoid this.

    Yeah, they're just keywords really.

    All the best!

Thank you all for the assistance. Ok I think that I am on the right track. Harvey, if I use an op-in form on the site then there would be no need for a Squeeze Page...not so. Is this not a duplication? Since persons would have already oped-in. Harvey, I don't think I have enough posts to PM you Can You possibly PM me? Where can I find the 'more tag' in Word Press?

        Hi ramohed,

No, it's not a problem if you use multiple opt-in forms. I use 5 opt-in forms myself. In fact, you're going to get better quality subscribers from your blog's sidebar 9 times out of 10.

Trust me, you want to be using both. You can set it up so that if they're already subscribed, they aren't put on the list twice.

You can find the 'More Tag' on the WordPress post editor here.

        Any other questions?

Certainly don't need Optimize Press and I agree you definitely need an opt-in form giving away a free gift in the right hand column. What is the use of getting visitors if you are not getting them on your list.

If you have a free gift make sure that it is something of value. Don't use a PLR product as is because if people sign up for it, they will quickly unsubscribe. It only has to be a free report and you can have a OTO there as well.

No you do not have to get optimize press but it is my favorite way to build a squeeze page it's fast and easy. You can find someone on here to build you a couple squeeze pages and I say couple because you are going to want to test to see which one converts the bests . Most likely around $25 each .

Why don't you invest in a light box pop up and put a form on the top right of your site to capture emails . Then when you are using PPC or any other form of traffic generation that is when you send them to a squeeze page.

So you put your squeeze on your site and make it private and link to it threw advertising .

Harvey, I know what a squeeze page is and I already have an autoresponder...aweber. What I need to do now is set up a squeeze page. On Chris Farrell site , he used optimize press. But that was for his site only and I don't want to be linked there indefinitely. I want control of my site. So I need to now set this up on my own.

"Make your own? I have a squeeze page converting on 68% that is 5 lines of code long. All it is, is a picture of my eCover and an opt-in form below. If you send me a PM, I can show you how basic and simple it is.

Could you show me how you did it? without optimize. I must say That I have some talent and I am not entirely new to this...but new to WP and list building and all these other things I spoke about above.

I also fixed the 'More tag ' Thank you.

This appears to be one image with a link to the op-in form. Is it?
If this is so , then I can do this easily.

Your site looks good now with the opt-in. You could also try using a static opt-in page as the landing page for your website.

How do I use this static page? I have been reading about this but don't know how to set it up.
