Looking for ways to promote a free WP plugin

Hi guys, do you have experience/suggestions about some creative ways to promote the use of a free WordPress plugin (to its relevant users)?
I'm obviously thinking about good use of keywords on Wordpress.org , activity on the relevant forums, having a dedicated website.
What else am I missing?

    Hey what's going on...

    I personally am a HUGE believer in video marketing. People love video and you can if you already have a camera or one on your computer can make many videos and submit them to YouTube for free with a link to your plug in.

    Video is huge and I have seen great results from it in my Internet marketing endeavors versus non video ways of promotion.

    I can see that you own a website,it is 1 way.
    The second one is posting it on the war room.
    Try looking for other forums,if it is free it has much bigger market then a paid one but lets face it,you won't creat a niche website for a free a plugin.

    Start with your current ideas. Don't waste time if you something to promote. On the way, you'll learn other methods, use them too.

    1. Use plr sites like tradebit dot com
    2. Use them to give away and build list.
    3. Give it as bonus in affiliate promotions.
    4. Build a report of video manual on use of this plugin that solves a particular problem. Sell the report or the video to targeted buyers and give the plugin as bonus.

      Shawoon, your ideas are good, however would suit more a paid plugin, I'm looking to reach a big crowd with a free plugin.
      I'd love to hear more ideas I didn't mention in my initial post..
