Clickbank - how to determine a successful category

Hi,

I'm just curios how determine if a niche is worth entering? For instance, let's say we're using Clickbank's marketplace you can choose different categories and niches that contain many products.

If there would be a lot of products with a high Avg %/sale. Would that be a good way to tell?

Sure, that's a good way to tell. The prevalence of best sellers indicates strong demand for that niche.

No - not at all. It has absolutely nothing to do with what you're asking about.

All the "average %/sale" can tell you is what the average commission rate earned is, for all sales of a vendor’s products. This figure gives absolutely no indication at all of how well anything's selling.

What the successful niches are is something you should determine outside ClickBank, in the broader marketplace.

ClickBank sales figures are (rightly) not published ... and wouldn't, in themselves, be all that helpful for determining this matter, even if they were.

Yes, you're right. But there is a certain niche that I would like to see the demand for. And if there is a lot of info products available in that niche and that they are selling that would be a good indication.

If you could only research using clickbank - how would you best do it?

You're kind of asking "What's the best way to intentionally screw something up?" The answer is "any which way you please", because the result is the same: pot luck and probably no sales.

These kinds of hypotheticals are all well and good, but magic isn't triggered by adversity or a simple reluctance to go the distance. If the data isn't there, it isn't there. There's nothing that can be done about that. You'll just have to look elsewhere to build up a picture of the niche.

Also, niche research is one thing, but you can only gauge the suitability of actual products by evaluating them against your understanding of your target market. This means getting your hands on the products.

Realistically, though, why should anyone be confined to Clickbank for market research? By virtue of the fact you were able to log on here and ask questions, you're clearly not.

You're probably just setting false limitations for yourself. There's a tendency people have to do that when a task seems daunting. It leads to shortcut-taking, but they in turn usually lead to the wrong place.

Research like this can be a bit of a grind, but it's part and parcel of being a marketer. If you won't do it, what prospect do you have of being a successful marketer any more than an Olympian has of winning gold without a gruelling training routine?

Clickbank simply doesn't provide the right data for you to determine what it is you're asking.
