How to Make Ebook FREE on Kindle?

I want to put my books up on Kindle for free but not just for 3 days. I thought there was a way to get it to stay on there for free? Something about putting it up on another site first or something?

You make it freely available on the internet somewhere, perhaps on your website or another online market. Then Amazon will price match it to make it zero.

Just make sure your book is not in KDP Select.

You may have to email Amazon to show them that's freely available elsewhere and that it should be $0 on Amazon.

You can't do it - sorry!

KDP Select allows you to make the book free for up to 5 days in a 90 day period, so your book can be free for up to 20 days per year. Otherwise as an independent self-publisher the lowest price in the US Amazon store is 99 cents.

Amazon incurs a cost for every Kindle book it delivers via Whispernet, so they can't allow you to price it free. They are in business to make money, not to give you a free platform to distribute your work. The Free books you see on Amazon are either their own or belong to established publishing companies who pay Amazon for the privilege.

    Happy New Year!

It can take a long time for Amazon's bots to notice your book is free. I've heard people have the best luck getting Amazon to price match when they put it for free on Barnes&Noble.

Once you do that, use the button to report a lower price and ask some others to do it as well. From what I hear it can take weeks - months for it to actually happen… or it may never.
