Hi Guys,

I have just literally finished making a Video called: Video Marketing Strategy Tips For Youtube

As basic as it may be, I would highly appreciate your thoughts and some feedback regarding this here or on the Youtube comments. I am not a professional with video but I give it my best shot and I think the tips will be useful for quite a few people anyway.

Watch It Here

Thanks Guys!

Did you make this one by camtasia's usage? If so I think you have done a good job but maybe by using more ones you can do better than that.

By the way it's a nice video

      Hi Zach,

Yes I used Camtasia to make the video. What do you mean by "maybe by using more ones you can do better than that"?

      Thank you for your reply

I think it's a useful video overall but it is a bit slow. You do a lot of talking that I think could have been sped up or abbreviated. I'd say try to get the video under 5 minutes for this type of "how to". Hope that helps a little

          Hi Ron,

Thanks mate appreciate the feedback. Looking back on it it does drag on a bit, I wouldn't say my voice has the most uplifting voice either lol.

I will definitely take this into consideration for my next "quick tip" videos keeping it between 3-5 minutes long.

          Thanks Again.

@windu - it depends on what you want to do with the video. IMO the spokesperson / taking head style videos are the best for sales conversations. For instruction, the whiteboard / fast-drawing style is good. Product demos can be used as informational or sales depending on how they're structured and produced. There's also the kinetic text style which I think is good for short, zippy sales videos.

The worse in my opinion are the animoto style videos. Unless there is a very compelling message and/or great photography, I think they don't convert well. I think they're good for family collages of photos...but not much else.

Sorry Windu, must have missed your post.

I think Visual tutorials are always more effective. I get so tired watching slide after slide too. Personal opinion of course.

If I had the tools I would aim to crank some some good quality videos on the future like Frank Kern however I must look into where I find a "BIG ASS WHITEBOARD"

I just need to work on tweaking my videos using peoples great recommendations here, then hopefully I will be on the right track!

Your voice is fine. Your delivery isn't. Just editing out all the ums, ahs and youknows would shave a minute or two right off the top.

I'm not sure what I watched, but I had a hard time actually extracting a useful tip from the video.

I did watch all the way through, but only because I was watching to give feedback. If I'm watching for the tip, I'm out in the first minute. Give me the tip, plain and clear, then go back and explain it. Finish by giving the tip again.

You need to spend more time on your outline and what's important, spend time rehearsing instead of trying to wing it, and edit afterwards. Nice try, though.

LOL thanks John. I don't know what it is with the ums and all, that's something I really need to work on or edit it out as you mentioned.

That's a clear explanation and an extremely useful one. I highly appreciate it!

Next time, try to talk less and show your visitors what they should do in a quick way.

I watched your video and after a minute, I had to leave because I got bored very fast.

It wasn't bad, nothing wrong with your voice. I think what talfighel might be hinting at is that viewers generally have super short attention spans, so instead of starting off talking about the youtube layout, get right into the meat of your topic. Hit 'em up with something cool right off the bat, or even just tell them that you have a really awesome tip that is going to (insert benefit to viewer here).

Keep them on the hook long enough to see that your content is good.

great advice. Tafinagle I used to run with him in the plug in profit area. He is well knowledgeable he's been here since the early 2000's and he got you to write this too. I'd take this advice in a minute.

      Thanks BeeJay,

I must be honest that I haven't done any videos like this before, so I am highly grateful for everyone's input here. I will take your advice into consideration as I prefer that myself too lol.

I'm so fussed with the views us such so I might just pull it down and remake it, and try to break it down but keep key points in their as much as possible.

I think all things are good but video length should be less. Try to express more in minimum time to user.

    Hi Steve,

Watch the video and have given you a like. I think it is well-explained.

Since you're using camtasia, I would suggest that you also include zoom in and out for clearer illustration. Not a must but it'd be good.

Also, you could try to speed up the pace a little because it's a little draggy imo. I believe this video get be done in 4 minutes or less.

If you are new to this kinda of stuff I would say you did a phenomenal job. Keep up the consistency and you'll be great in no time.

    Hey Steve

Overall, I say nice video, and I did get a tip from watching it

    However:

Like others have mentioned earlier -

    1. I would take out the um's, you know, etc...
I had to overcome this myself. When I started with video sometimes it would take me over 20 do-overs before I got it right.

    2. I would also consider abandoning the music in the intro.
(It may be just me but I got the feeling that I was about to see a video that had only music with somebody writing down the tips in the video. This is quite common on YT, and for me quite annoying. If I wasn't watching for feedback, I would have hit the back button before the video got started)

    3. Speed up the video a little (not too fast), use a few zoom ins, get right to your point, and then you would have a very good video
