Having Trouble Monetizing my Site | Need Advice

Hello WF,

I've been having trouble generating a consistent income from my site. Affiliate marketing, CPC with Adsense, and CPM (always get rejected) haven't been working.

I've made $0 with affiliate marketing, even though I've gotten a total of about 400 clicks.

Additionally, I barely ever get Google Adsense clicks. And if I do, they are usually only around 10 cents.

So what are some ideas for monetizing my site?

The site is Pagerank 4, and gets over 150 unique visitors per day (mostly from Google searches for proxies, VPNs, and bypassing internet censorship).

If I am frank with you, I don't think those type of sites are conducive to earn good money.

What keywords are the Google searchers using to come to your site? That will give some data into why they are visiting. If you want to use that as your starting point - from there, you need to work out what problem they have and what solution you are going to offer.

The top 10 searches are all for proxy lists. I can't seem to find a proxy service that has an affiliate program...

And I know my niche doesn't necessarily generate too much income, but it isn't very saturated.

I just did a search for "proxy" in our affiliate directory - Affiliate Program Directory* - and found six listings. It looks as though most of those are proxy servers.

Also, you can often find affiliate programs by doing a search in Google like this:
        keyword +"affiliate program".

I just tried that now for
        proxy service +"affiliate program"

The No.1 result is Proxify's affiliate program.

I've sold AssociatePrograms.com - to an old friend

Thanks a lot. Interesting site you have there. It was really helpful. I found some affiliate programs that look nice.

Also, I refuse to promote Proxify for personal reasons. The site's free public proxy forbids access to my site, and when I emailed them, they lied about the proxy not having enough resources to access it and to try to go on later (which is not true. The site is only availiable with their "premium" version).

          But thanks!

Your meta tags are not relevant to your site:
    wordpress,c bavota,feed me seymour,custom theme,themes bavotasan com,premium themes

Meta tags are not much of importance to the search engines as they used to be, but changing the meta tags to be relevant would not hurt since organic seach engine traffic is one of your traffic methods.

Your site is not listed at yahoo.com, so you might look into why it is not listed.

My site is indexed at yahoo.com (bypass censorship - Yahoo! Search Results), it just doesn't get as much traffic compared to Google (300-500 clicks / day).

And I'll look into the meta tags. Thanks!

Have you tried using WP Simplicity? It's a paid plugin, but it could help you in getting good content and finding products for your site. There's also WP Amazon feed, and Ebay is always also an easy way to monetize.

Look at alternatives to Adsense like Chitika and others. The key here is to mix your offers. Use CPA offers, ads, one time offers at different price points and recurring income programs. Write reviews and articles.

I believe it was Darren Rowse that said you need around 1200 blog posts to make your blog really take off. Maybe your issue is traffic, and you're just not getting enough.

I've attached an article I wrote about building traffic to your blog. Focus on beefing up your content, as well as marketing, and I think you'll see better results. Balance it out. You have to create good content, but if no one sees it, then it's pretty much a waste of time.

    Good luck,
