Does using "addthis" to a site add a code to your url???

On all my pages that I use an addthis.com sharing icon I get this added to the URL:

It's like a string of code that appears after the page? Does anyone else get this? Is there a way to remove it?

ie:

news.htm#.UOihwHe1XQt
#add #addthis #code #site #url

That's weird, I never heard of that. Maybe the code is conflicting with something on your site?

Yes addthis adds that string to the end of your URLs. You can go to their site and find a way to remove it. I haven't had a chance to do it myself yet.

That code is used to track URL sharing...not only in the number of shares, but the appended hash helps track the number of clicks.

      I leave mine. Yeppers.
