Web 2.0s - One, or Many

Hey everyone,

Quick question - say you have 20 keyword specific articles, and you wanted to send them out to different web 2.0s (and have all of those point back to your main site). You would obviously first start by making accounts on sites like wordpress.com, squidoo, etc. Then, you do the posting. BUT -

On a site like wordpress.com, should you post all of your articles on the site/blog/property or make separate sites/blogs/properties for each article? Like make 20 different Wordpress.com blogs and have each have only one article on it.

I just thought this the other day and was wondering if anyone had any insight. It seems like having every article on one property type instead of having multiple of the same property type (with separate articles) makes much more sense, but hey, you never know. Thought I'd ask.

    Ok, do you have 20 keyword specific articles in different niches?

    Or you can say it can be applied to same kind of niche?

      Very interesting point. The idea is to rank for them so i would assume that all 20 articles on the one site would work better.

    Because the value you can get from Web 2.0 sites you can also get from equivalent free pages (even on free hosting) which you yourself own and control.

    And that way you can avoid TOS problems, and having your sites taken down.

    I'd avoid wordpress.com, because even using a wordpress.com for backlinking purposes, to your own site, breaches their terms of service, and it'll take only one person (a competitor?) to flag your site, once, for it to disappear permanently.

    I'd avoid Squidoo, too, for the reasons explained by so many people in all the posts linked to in the various posts of these two threads (don't imagine that the reason apply only to "using Squidoo pages to try to make money through Squidoo" - they apply to backlinking, too) ...

    It's all completely unnecessary. There are safe, easy, free alternatives available for these backlinking purposes. There's no need to take these risks. Compared with the readily available alternatives, it's all downside.

    It's better to own and control yourself the pages you want to rank for these purposes. And it's not as if you have to spend a penny, either, to achieve that outcome.

      Looks like you are really against building web 2.0 backlinks in some most popular sites. People usually choose blogger and wordpress to build web 2.0 backlink. Can you recommend some of them which you think are the best ?

        I'm happy for my direct competitors to do it, because it so often turns out to be "unexpectedly temporary".

      So, instead of using web 2.0s, I should look into hosting some free blogs? And would I use them the same way (for backlinking?) - post the articles on them and have them point back to my main site?

      The articles are all in the same niche.

    Due to current Google's algorithms, don't send the same article to different web 2.0 sites. Make sure to spin each article priorly then submit them to different web 2.0 sites.

    I suggest you submit 20 articles that contain keywords to one place only. You can choose one web 2.0 platform that you want/ like. Then acquire backlinks from other sites to each blogpost (article) for top ranking at Google.

    I totally agree with Alexa. People waste time building stuff that they have no control over. I just saw a post last week about someone "Squidoo Empire" that was taken from them.

    Such a waste of time, talent, and resources when you could be building something amazing on your own site versus making 1,000 worthless web 2.0 crappy blogs that you have no control over.
