As long as someone else did not buy it just buy it back.

Just type your domain on godaddy homepage ( check available domains search bar ) and if it says it is available re-register it.

This is only true if the name is no longer in your ACCOUNT and is available. But, after expiration for a period of ~25 days, the expired name remains in your account and you renew it from there.

If its not, you may still get it back if its in redemption. Call GoDaddy and ask.

When did your domain name expired?

I believe, If your domain is still on a redemption period status you can still get back your domain name from your registrar.

They normally have a multi-month grace period for you to pick it back up.

Find that hard to believe Godaddy starts sending reminders way before your domain expires...

GoDaddy does give you time to buy back your domain but there is a charge of about $80 IF it has already expired. Otherwise you can wait about 2 months for them to release it, which they will if it has no value to them at all.

This is how it was a year ago, I'm sure things are pretty much the same nowadays.

And you might want to check the notification box from GoDaddy... they email me about 30 times before a domain is even close to an expiration date.

    Good luck.

They'll also email you 30 times after it expires to get it back...

That is true. And come to think of it, if they're nice they might not charge you if it's just a day or two after it has expired, but they also have that surcharge of about $80, and it's pretty much up to them whether or not to give you your domain back. I have a feeling that if it's a pretty valuable domain they won't give it back at all. GoDaddy is not known for ethical dealings.

This isn't bad information but needs some clarification.

Lets use my domain BenPedersen.Com as an example.

      Say it expires today, 01/10/2013.....

      1. It will expire and park but be in my "domain manager" for a period of ~25 days. If, at anytime between now and 02/04/2013, I can simply renew it right from my domain manager @8 bucks or whatever.

      2. If I don't renew it and decide I want it back AFTER 02/04/2013, I can still get it because it goes into redemption for the next ~45 days. The problem is, to get it out of redemption and back into your account costs an $80 "redemption fee" (but if you call them and bitch enough, they'll waive that $80 fee - don't ask how i know.)

      3. If after the redemption period expires, and you want it, just register it like a new domain.... providing someone else didn't snag it.

      Hope this helps.

    I would agree with XponentSYS.

Don't worry about your domain expiration. You can still have it back.
Just need to wait for such time that the server can release it.
