Question About a Domain I Registered

I found and registered an available .com domain that I want to use for a Hockey related website. However, I found out that there is an Android game with the same name.

Are Android games trade-marked? For example: if a company creates a game like "Super Jump!" or "lower it!" would I be able to register superjump.com or lowerit.com without legal-issue? The domain I registered is just a combination of two fairly popular words.

Thanks in advance.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Thanks. It looks like I'm good to go. Would there be any issues if the phrase would be trade-marked at a later date by them or someone else?

Normally they dont trade mark games. You can have a go without worrying about it.

Ordinary day-to-day phrases normally can't be trade-marked. So I doubt that something like "lower it" could be protected by anyone.

This is what I figured, but wasn't 100% on. Thanks for your input.

Are you able to tell me the correct advice then?

I don't see the advantage to getting this domain. If the game is popular people would visit your website expecting information about the game.

Ordinary day-to-day words are trademarked regularly. "Windows" is a trademark. "Apple" is a trademark. Thousands of other every day words are trademarked.

A trademark is applied to specific industries. While "Windows" is a trademark for an operating system, someone else could register "Windows" as a trademark for an entirely different industry, like window cleaning.

A trademark does not have to be officially registered to have the power a registered one does. Just because it is not listed in a trademark database does not mean it does not exist.

Yes, you could register "Super Jump!" or "lower it!" as a domain name, provided you are not using it to monetize or leverage someone else's trademark.
