Default Warriors can you point me in the right direction on optimization of single landing pages

Hello Warriors,

Good news is I got a new client today. He wants me to design five landing pages and then optimize them.

In my own personal experience I have only optimized large article based authority sites, can anyone point me in the direction of some information on single landing page optimization please.

Thanks,

LMC

that is an awesome link describing exactly what i wanted to know. Just a small question. Is it bad to create my home page as a landing page. The reason i ask is because my home page is the only page with page rank so it would be easier to build on it. I sell appliances so the home page promotes my appliances randomly

There is no problem in having your home page as the landing page. You would need to have some links on it to inner pages but not so as to distract visitors from the purpose of the landing page.

For instance, here is a page which is basically an optin page that carries a lot of keyword-rich content to get a high ranking in the search engines. The internal links are not conspicuous as the focus of the page is to get visitors' email addresses. The selling takes place through a series of emails that have been set up.

Beneath the landing page (but not obvious) are a number of content pages which act as feeder pages that bring traffic to the site, where they are urged to join the email sales system.

As you can see, the overall structure needs to be considered in terms of the sales model being followed. Here is the landing page I mentioned above:
