What's missing in Internet Marketing courses/programs?

Hey Everyone! Hope 2013 has been a good year so far!

I have noticed more and more offers for me to join coaching programs arrive in my inbox lately that ever before! It seems everyone is re-launching their programs bigger and better than ever before but to me, they still seem the same. In my opinion, their products are just the same stuff, different package. There is nothing new.

I want to know what you think is missing from these?

For me, it's the personal aspect. When I was just starting out, there were a couple of marketers who grabbed my attention and described their course to be the key to my success. That everything taught was directly from themselves and how if I knew their secrets I could not succeed. Now that's all very well, but it would be nice to actually be contacted privately by the big "Guru's" themselves.

    I did not see you mention any particular aspect of IM other than coaching

    But if you are looking at SEO for 2013 and beyond
    in my opinion is many of the techniques I see still being promoted are eventually going to be short lived

    I know this subject can be debated till we all tire of it, but the one thing we can all agree is the last two updates Panda and Penguin did effect too many of us

    The buzz word is no SEO and look to what the Russian search engine is doing, basically this is what the Panda update is all about

    The new SEO will be all about getting clicks and keeping visitors on the site

    Gaming the SE's was taken out by Penguin and for the moment some people are still experiencing success but eventually will be nulled.

    Just my 2cents on what is missing

    I didn't include SEO in my question as I want to see what people reply with. Many programs say that will teach everything but I always am disappointed with what they actually do teach.

    I agree with you on the SEO side of things, the programs I have tried have been very vague when it comes to optimising the website. Interesting about you mentioning Google updates, in my opinion if someone is willing to pay a few hundred dollars for a course. You would think that "Guru's" would update their SEO teachings so they become relevant with Google's updates, I would like to think I would.

    I was hit badly with Panda and Penguin, it definitely caught me off guard and I am only just starting to rank again for some of my sites.

    Napoleonfirst, I agree totally with you.

    However, don't you think that the programs/coaching products "Guru's" create, and then promote by convincing people that everything they need to know is in there. Yet they will miss out on important things such as Sparrow commented on, SEO. It is all very well to teach someone how to build a website but it is quite unfair to say that your product will show someone exactly how to create a site and get people visiting it without going into great detail about SEO.

    I get where you are coming from as there are loads of small ebooks on specific tasks, it just bugs me that I have yet to come across a program that actually does teach someone everything about a certain area. In my opinion, there is always one important category that is missing.

    I hope that makes sense?
